What are the level requirements? or is this gonna be 60s only?
well might be 10 lvls from max rank so 60 might be the low end
and 70 high end
I never said drive away, however ; It feels better to play a game with proper rewards and a path to achieve goals, I did a FFXIV free trial and I got a car mount from an event, it was interesting how that game managed rewards compared to wow. Similar issue happened with OW2 events compared to OW events, there’s a logic behind rewarding players and that’s why we got the trading post for example.
We can even say the same about gear progress and why some players quit, why Blizzard added the vault instead of the cachem…etc
Holidays needed proper updates for years, most of these events are just a sloot machine.
so if i say i got the headless horseman mount on my third year my opinion on drop rates is automatically void to people who dont have the mount?
There always has to be one.
No, because for example I got the MoP mounts before changes happened during DF and I provided feedback that nobody else should go through the same from my point of view. You can provide your opinion about a drop, at the end devs are the ones manipulating the player base. Just like the weird rule that moves the minimum level for a valid attempt with each new expansion…
There is so much precedent, across so many other games, that to suggest this is to admit you’ve never really studied the subject.
The most common example of this is Black Dye. And in one of the games I played before WoW, the Devs drew a HARD line in the sand that they would NEVER give the players Black dye, because everyone would of course make everything Black.
They had every other color in the rainbow-- just not Black. And after a long time, they FINALLY relented and gave the players Black dye.
And guess what? Some people used it, some didn’t. NOTHING changed.
There will never be a “totally common” item as long as people have CHOICES. As soon as something becomes saturated, people just choose something else.
Remember the Tree mount??? lol Or ANY of the other “new and shiny” mounts we’ve been given in the last 5-6 years? Mounts that were all the flair and fashion… for about a week. And then people made other choices because people just inherently don’t like having what everyone else has.
If the drop rate of the Rocket was increased to 99% and “everyone had one”, you’d still only see a few of them here and there.
Blizzard:
All rare items are now common.
Gear for each xpac will always be at max mythic level.
Raid bosses will no longer fight back.
There will be no losers in Arena or BG’s.
That’s where we’re headed folks…
Well theres always gunna be some on the forums at least
Well, that’s not going to happen, so I’m not going to spend too much time worrying about it.
No, but the point stands: If ANYTHING becomes super-common/easy to get, people choose something else (as long as there are other options). And in WoW, there are PLENTY of options.
If it were ME… drop rate for the Rocket would be … in the 2-3% range. That makes it high enough you can target it if you REALLY want it, but low enough that it’s still “a prize.”
Do you how many bonus missions I failed on with 90%.
I’ve just learned to be happy if I win and happy if not
All I know is finally this year I don’t have to run my army of alts though and though and not get it…I got lucky last year and got it on second day of the event with my little Gnome rogue…Love Rocket Love Rocket Love Rocket…say it with me all… …I finally have the two best mounts in game the Love Rocket and the Magic Rooster Egg
First off thank you for following through on this after the blue post from last year. I know many players were afraid this was just going to be forgotten about.
Secondly, the increased chance being only once a day I sincerely hope the drop rate is about 5%+ since the old drop rate is nearly non-existent. If it’s 1% then it’s still going to be an army of alts doing pretty much the same thing.
Regardless it’s wonderful this nonsensically rare mount has finally gotten some attention after all these years. Being rarer and more prestigious than Arthas’ (the most iconic character in the franchises entire lore) own horse never made a lick of sense to me whatsoever.
Quite a leap. I see that you got omega lucky and got the mount and that’s most likely why you feel this way. People have farmed this thing thousands of times every February over many years since it was added to the game with nothing to show for it. This mount is extremely abnormal compared to other holiday mounts and there’s no way in hell it should be more rare than iconic mounts like Invincible.
It was always absurd and I believe to this day they accidentally added an extra 0 in it’s drop chance and didn’t want to own up to it and correct it.
I have a number of rare mounts - you know how I got them? By investing a great deal of time trying to get them. There are also many many rare mounts I don’t have, but I surely don’t want them made easy to get. Half the fun of a rare mount is trying to get it knowing the odds are against you. You try anyway and sometimes, “rarely”, you do get it… and that’s pretty fun.
There are lots of common mounts, lots of 1% drop mounts, and a handful of ultra rare mounts. Asking for the ultra rare mounts to be made common is like asking for Gladiator mounts to be handed out to anyone in the top 35% because “everyone should be able to get it”.
It’s ok for some things to be ridiculously rare just as its ok for some things to require ridiculous skill. Not everything in game should be attainable by everyone.
2343 attempts since the rocket was released. don’t play w/ me blizzard, don’t you even dare.
I hope it’s not by much. Rare mounts are great because they are rare. I got lucky to get mine back in 2014. Headless back in 2010.
13% of accounts have Rivendares Charger.
there are hundreds of mounts which are rarer.
luck.
there’s no time investment which will guarantee a drop.
two weeks per year, 1 chance per character per day.
…that’s not a “great deal of time”.
you just got lucky.
The funny thing about chance… your odds of succeeding go up the more time you invest. It’s never guaranteed, but the “odds” of getting any rare mount go UP the more times you make the attempt. If you throw 20 alts at this event your chances are significantly higher than someone who just runs their main once per day.
As far as the Big Love Rocket goes - you bet I got lucky, and it was all the more exciting to see it because I KNEW I had just gotten super lucky.
But I’ve also been putting in attempts on the Sha of Anger every week and I don’t have that one yet. Not complaining though - its ultra rare and that’s ok. But I still try. Every week. Since MoP.
Ultra rare mounts have a place in this game just like ultra skill mounts do.
