whys it never good? give me a good reason
I’d get exited but with my luck I haven’t even gotten the HH mount to drop, and that’s since the event launched.
NFTs basically, she’s almost treating it like an NFT - which has false value. Mounts are not NFTs, this only shows shes one of those “I wanna feel special for owning pixels in a video game” type of people. That’s toxic and bad, it also suggests they have an ego they can’t keep in check.
Question is what do they mean by “greatly increased” does it mean .01 to .02, or is it a meaningful increase.
how did you manage to paint them from wanting games to have “win/loss” to NFTs
Its basically the same, what she wants. They share “scarcity” except its fake in this case - both have 0 scarcity, and Im glad a ton more people will be running around with the love rocket soon and I sure hope this tones down the ego of people who want mounts to be scarce and low drop rate. Give these people a reality check, and one day when wow shuts down…you will lose it. Completely. Gone. Just like china players lost everything.
Because, this kind of drop doesn’t incentive new players, if someone asked me about my 8k attempts for the sha or this holiday mount, that person probably will percive this game like a big sloot machine that doesn’t provide any progress due to rng with lack of bad luck protection. Its like playing a gacha game without any sort of increase drop overtime.
so what are we talking about 25% or 50% per day?
new players are already driven away due to the leveling.
drop rates on rate mounts have no bearing on new players at all
every mmo has rare stuff to obtain
most dungeon ones are estimated to be around 1% except for a few. Same with the raid ones. Some people just have really bad luck on particular ones. For every person like me that farmed til infinity to get Invincible on a massive army of alts littered across multiple accounts, there’s a pile of people that got it in 50 runs or less. I feel like the rarest soloable instance ones likely have less people that farm them. Ones like Stratholme, Dragon Soul, Tempest Keep, Siege of Orgrimmar, even maybe ICC. I could be wrong, and Rarity and Wowhead’s droprates could be wrong. but I bet that’s the case, less people farm certain ones, making less people have it than other ones
She has a point. If a new player sees a mount and asks how to get it, you tell them location and how many attempts…they will think wow is a gotcha rng fest type game when it comes to collection.
gacha is real money slots like genshin
every single game thats online has rare stuff that takes lots of attempts to obtain
And you have the statistics to prove this? I know many peolpe, new players and vets (and myself) who love leveling different classes / specs and in different zones and different ways.
I sincerely doubt that players are driven away because of leveling.
Well, just compare the experience with other mmorpgs. I tried FFXIV free trial ane I got some mounts from events by doing questlines, boss challenges. It was fun and straigth forward compared to WoW sloot machine kind of celebration… That doesn’t even allow us to transmog the gas mask and it took years to remove restrictions in other items. The whole reward system needs improvements…
do you have stats that say new players are driven away due to rare drop rates?
No mount should still be as low as the love rocket. It only fuels the ego of people owning it, which is a very bad trait to have. They should all be possible to obtain within a realistic amount of time.
Thats 100% false.
I never said players were driven away from rare drops. You were the one who brought up players were driven away because of leveling.
My only argument is that this change be applied to all mount drops so that people know what to expect.
Oh ur the wrong person a blood elf said new players are driven away cause of rare drop.
Im all for increasing drop rates. Just dont be disingenuous and say low rate rare drops are the end all when it comes to wow perception. To new players
if it’s anything like the MOP world boss mounts, I got 3 in a 4 day period, and don’t really farm Nalak to test that one. I would guess most people who really try this year will get it, or at the very least, our chances of seeing it before we die are really high. Enough of a chance to think I really might get it this year. I wish all of you the best of luck. It will be less rare after this year, but for some mounts, that’s perfectly fine.
