“So if they are at 68, you can take them.”
Chill, its just a mount… one which wont be cool anymore after everyone is riding it anyway
Headless horseman mount is owned by 41% of the profiles listed on Wowhead…so I don’t see them upping the drop rate on that mount…where as the Love Rocket is only owned by 3% of the profiles on Wowhead…big big difference between the amount of owners of either mount.
Not everyone even wants it or wants to try for it, so that’s never going to be the case unless they increase drop chance to something insanely high like 25% that would make people like me think “oh well might as well pick it up real quick”.
I got it from understanding that they aren’t all “just mounts”. The difficulty in obtaining them, either through skill or luck, gives them added value. The more common the mount, the more easily obtainable it is, the less likely you are to see anyone actually using it.
Saw this yesterday, but the first roll increase (per account) is a plus. The percentage approximation should be disclosed (likely won’t be). Problem is the remaining rolls are 1/3333 which is awful RNG. Back in the day the optimal method used to be running (with character cap of 50) 3-5 accounts to get 60-100 percent attempts daily per event. Past couple of years I have ran 97 alts through 6-7 hours daily of this hellish gamba mount farm. Have farmed steadily since at least WoD. Am hoping the first roll is decent enough to set most of us free, it’s a really low drop for non-tcg pixels. We just need infinite timereaver adjustment next and maybe soundless.
What is the valentines mount drop rate, then? You can’t say one is way higher than the other when we literally dont even know the drop rate for one lol
We don’t know but we know its ultra super low, the estimated guess is 0.04%. Devs never disclose mount drop rates.
?? Wowhead has the drop rate of most mounts though, and everyone seems to quote these as fact. Are they not fact, or?
This absolutely kills me because I got the love rocket after only a couple of years of trying but I have been trying to for the Headless Horseman for 14 years or however long it’s been running and never once seen it. I haven’t even seen it drop except the one time my partner got it.
There are people who have literally run 50 (sometimes more) toons every single day during this event for years since it launched and don’t have it. This is anti-fun.
They have invested an absurd astronomical amount of time trying to get it and still don’t have it. There was never any logical reason for this mount to be so much rarer than other holiday mounts. It was inconsistent and made no sense.
Being only a few weeks a year this mount was the hardest to farm in the game for no reason. This is a fantastic change.
I had to kill arachnoid harvester over 1500 times to get the rusty mechanocrawler. It was horrible and I never wish that upon anyone. It’s not fun whatsoever, they can increase the drop rate to 5% right now and it doesn’t hurt me in any way whatsoever. Stop being selfish and let people earn things with a reasonable amount of time and effort. 50+ toons every single year with no results is neither of those.
Take a look at my follow up post where I said:
That’s the thing about rare mounts - they’re rare. Some, like the Big Love Rocket and the Heavenly Onxy Cloud Serpent are extremely rare. That’s not anti fun, it’s actual fun. You have a pretty good idea it’s never gonna happen, but like buying a lotto ticket, each week there’s that bit of hope.
If you are a true mount collector and have ever farmed the mop world bosses you know there are hundreds of people who come out every week to take a shot. A lot of them have been trying for many years, yet they keep coming.
It’s ok to have mounts like this. Plenty of others have a 1% or so drop rate that you absolutely get with perseverance alone - like Ashes of Alar or Invincible. Not everything has to be made easier ever year.
The mounts anyone can get almost always have zero value - you rarely see them getting used. Why? Because no one cares about a tawny wind rider except ironically. Rarity, like skill based mounts, have added value simply because they are hard to get.
They are not official drop rates, notice on wowhead how it says out of ____ - its an estimate based on info available from times dropped.
No one likes the name change… It is the Big Love Rocket. I will never call it that stupid new name. That’s not what it’s been or was.
Only a drop rate increase for the first box then normal after that sounds like a change that will still ensure that many will still not see it drop for years again.
This is cool to see, but what about farming mounts that are still available? ICC runs are 25 minutes at the minimum regardless of movement and it is very disheartening to keep doing it every week. I’m at around 100 kills so far and every time I do it, I find myself rather wanting to walk on hot coals. Can we incorporate a skip for this raid as well as Ulduar and Firelands, Dragon Soul? All of these are examples of raid that take quite a bit of time to solo. Can we bring back alt switching though LFG system?
Use the lockout save method for ICC. Thats how I got Invincible.

What is the method used for that?
Im not sure if it still works but clear up to Lich king, but dont kill him. Then make group in LFG, switch to char to farm on, apply, switch back and accept yourself, switch back to accept invite, wait till your auto-passed lead cause other char offline, kick that char, and kill LK. The other char isnt saved to LK kill when I did it.
