(WWED) Battle of Silvermoon City

It was a cool evening in Stormsong Valley, when Alliance banners fell, and Horde ones rose up in their place. Warbound Legion had about 20 soldiers sweeping through the region, wreaking havoc upon the Alliance, killing many of them unlucky enough to be in the region that evening. The group was planning their next move when Commander Lirissavia reminded everyone of their obligations that night. A few days ago, Ranger General Aeythyr or Silvermoon City reached out to several independent leaders of Horde guilds, including Highlord Throggma of the Warbound Legion, the leaders of the Valorheim Warband, Master Kreto of the Warband of Durotar, and Chieftain Abrahof of the Redwood Tribe. Sin’dorei spies managed to find out that several powerful alliance forces were planning a large attack on Silvermoon City, with guilds like The Ashen Vale, Lionguard, Clan Battlehammer, the 5th Marine Reconnaissance Brigade of Kul Tiras, and many other Alliance soldiers preparing an attack to be remembered throughout the ages. The Elvish defenders of the City would be outnumbered, and Silvermoon would be doomed to fall, but not if the rest of the Horde helped out.

Commander Lirissavia created a portal to Silvermoon, and Highlord Throggma ordered the experienced group of soldiers to walk through the portal, finding themselves on the sundrenched, blood red streets of the Elvish capital. As the group walked towards the gates, they noticed the already large gathering of at least 25 Sin’dorei dressed in the famous regalia of blood elf soldiers, as well as quite a few Tauren, Orcs, and other Horde races ready to give their lives to protect their brothers and sisters of the Horde’s lavish city. The Warbound Legion group made their way to the side of the gates, Highlord Throggma finding a gold lined, red table to place a large map of Silvermoon City. He took out a quill and some ink and started planning the strategy that would be used to claim victory in a battle that with rather even numbers, would be won by a good approach, and not sheer numbers. The plan was genius, the massive group at the gate would take the first push by the Alliance to try and enter to city, with a Warbound Legion scout ready to give the word when that group was starting to falter, that being when the Warbound Legion group would charge to the gates, heal up the large group that has held it, push into the now caught off guard enemy lines, take out their healers, and then slowly push them out of the city, killing them all and claiming a mighty victory for the Horde.

The plan was perfect, and when the sizeable Alliance force of around 50 soldiers pushed past the beautiful gate statue of a Sin’dorei leader of past and into the city, the horns sounded, and the battle begun. With many Alliance forces staying back in the gate, the few that pushed out to face the at least 30 men guarding the gate faced overwhelming odds and were pushed back into the gate, though the Alliance did not lose their resolve after being able to take out a few of the gate group through their spellcasters. It was only 30 seconds into the battle when the Warbound Legion group charged in, immediately finding their way to the small passage of the gate, swiftly finding the healers and taking them out. With no healing, it wasn’t long before the massive Horde army was able to cut the Alliance push at the gate into pieces, sending about 25 of them retreating to the trees of Eversong Woods. The Horde followed, taking most of them out as they ran, few getting away. The Horde was victorious! The Horde army regrouped at the gate to enjoy the victory, while a sizeable but late Ironsworn Regiment group appeared, acting as the cleanup crew killing the leftover Alliance that dwelled in the Eversong Woods. In the end, a great victory for the Horde with the Alliance losing many soldiers in a failed attack on the Blood Elf capital.

The Thalassian government was fortunate to find many fellow Sin’dorei, Shal’dorei, and horde brothers and sisters that would rally to Elves of the North banners. Last night, and throughout the morning, celebration rang through the streets of Silvermoon City. An attack repelled, thanks to the valiant efforts of the Warbound Legion, the Elves of the North, Valorheim, Warband of Durotar, and the Blackrock Clan, not to mention valuable intel provided by Redwood Tribe, and the Silverswift Cartel.

The masterful strategic plan crafted by High Lord Thaloren and High Lord Throggma was flawlessly executed that night by the fierce and battle-hardened elven and horde warriors, determined not to let their city fall again to an outside force.

The High Lords pled with the attackers, shouting from the ramparts of the city, “If you set foot in this city, we will fill the scar with your dead!”. But to no avail… the Alliance was determined to take Silvermoon.

But when they rushed the gates, they would find them a little too welcoming… the trap had been sprung… they had underestimated the Sin’dorei and the allies of Quel’thalas, and the blood of the alliance would begin painting the streets of Silvermoon to match her crimson banners.

For the next 20 minutes, the battle raged, and the attackers were pounded with bombardment after bombardment. Their lines faltered, and as their phalanx began to separate, the defenders rushed the gates.

The alliance fled, some mounted, some on foot, back into the woods of Eversong. The defenders returned to the city, victorious, as the trumpets of Silvermoon blared a victory note that rang through the Walk of Elders, echoing all the way north to the Court of the Sun. Silvermoon was saved!

((Thank you to all the great leaders and members of the #RebelAlliance and to WBL, Valorheim, BRC, WoD, many independent Horde warriors, and of course the Rangers of the Elves of the North for creating a great matchup last night. Truly a battle to remember!)) #RP-WPVP
