For research, after witnessing the raw power of enemy WWs, I tried WW in a BG for the first time in 5 years.
I don’t know any of the interactions between abilities that are new (only thing i remembered was how to unlock WDP). I got honor gear, and copied a build without looking at it, and pressed the buttons as they lit up.
I felt far too effective for knowing so little and spending so much time looking down at the action bars to see my abilities and their keybinds.
That’s how I felt on the first time on remix as ww, and also while playing Demon Hunter last expansion, before it actually got a little more complicated recently. Nothing wrong with a spec feeling good.
In a battleground, I had one (WW) try to attack me and I knocked him back(bursting shot), got him to 60% health before he almost reached me but got him in a Binding Shot, I hit him a bit and put down traps, by the time he got to me again he found my high explosive trap, then I disengaged for no reason and killed him at near my max range.
Now, why can I not manage to do that any of that to melee in arena? I don’t know. Warriors and Rogues run me down easily, Feral too some days.
Does your preferred rogue spec use shadowstrike? Because having a shadow step or two charges of it and an ability that brings you to your enemy that also does damage is amazing.
Never actually learned sub, but if I can stick to playing just one character, it might be good to learn. They got a damage buff, but lost duel, so I wasn’t sure how they turned out
My point was that I cant damage a WW from range like you can. Not sure many specs can actually keep a monk off them and still deal damage from range
Realistically I don’t think Monk is the mobility master it used to be. Lust and roll are nice, but with most people picking up slicing winds and losing flying serpent kick I feel like they’re pretty easy for most ranged to keep off them.
It’s ironic, but I off-play a WW and yeah the damage is nuts, but I feel more helpless in caster lobbies / against kiting classes than I do on my Paladin, Warrior, or SV Hunter.
I bet it is. Does running away with vanish even work anymore with everybody having so many dots? Wow specs are just diverse enough that it’s still a bit of a game of chess. This spec countering that spec, which is countered by this spec etc.
I know on my frost dk, its such a 1 sided fight trying to deal with a MM hunter. Their damage is so absolutely wild. Haven’t locked up with a ww in a 1v1 yet. I’m trying though, I want to see their crazy damage first hand.
man MM is pretty cracked at the moment aim shot just doing a flat 2 mil damage minimum and the average rapid fire doing 3-4 mil plus they got a DOT that rolls from crits or something? but then again all the MM hunters cry if they cant 3 shot people
