Celestial Conduit has worked well for me. The RJW from SotWL is just so much cleave pressure every 30 seconds. Its just so much cleave. Pretty much every match when I see enemies stacking up, I know I can do a ton of pressure. Yu’lon’s Knowledge extends its duration.
People would cry if they did that lol. Shiz was hard af to play compared to now where it’s really straight forward. I loved it tho
You think that is the reason? The reason is simple: Why would you play a spec in AWC that is terrible bad? Only against a very few comps WW+Enha might be a tiny bit better than the other options they have.
It is true. Only targets you can stick to are those with less abilities to keep you away than you have to get close. So Shadow, Lock and maybe Boomy.
But that is definitely a rating thingy. The higher you get, the lower the uptime you will have. That isn’t only a WW issue though, but some other melees. Also a reason why Outlaw and Feral are so often seen on top ratings. You can’t kite them!
They also have access to more stuns mroe frequently, which I think is arguably the most important factor in securing kills atm. It really feels like ww needs a shorter cd or longer duration stun.
Definitely, but when they couldn’t connect, they also couldn’t use their melee range stuns or generate the combo points for it.
I think the “atm” gives the wrong impression. Stuns always have been the best cc to secure kills, as it doesn’t break on damage. A perfect defensive but also offensive CC.
The devs made it happen, that fear has become half a stun. How often did I drop 30%++ of my health bar while I was waiting for fear to break. Maybe a reason why Feral+SP are so dominant in NA?
That really hasn’t been a problem as long as I’ve pvp’d, so I can’t speak to that, but feral and outlaw have had no issues stunning off dr since bfa at least.
Also, rogue and feral have always had a range combo point generator and even vs mobile comps you’d just throw knives/moonfire and pair kidney/maim with step/leap.
Sure, but there have also been metas where it doesn’t matter if you have a stun available off DR. In early dragonflight, all of shadowlands, and all of bfa, stuns weren’t nearly as meta-defining as they are now.
In bfa the meta was so slow that nothing died in the stun anyways so, while impactful, a stun wasn’t so much required to kill as just part of a rotation.
In shadowlands, all that mattered were cds, so any stun paired with cds - even longer cd or shorter duration stuns - could be lethal.
Dragonflight was the first big shift where sustained damage and healing ramped up, but burst was reigned in, but as a side effect it feels near impossible to generate significant pressure without a reliable stun close to off dr.
You could give ww chains of ice and fel rush and that wouldn’t put them on the same level as feral/rogue.
I actually don’t see this, but I think the biggest reason for feral+sp is just that it’s a ton of damage and survivability; it’s got enough damage to win in goes and is more than tanky enough to not die and make it to the next one - which is every DR without any real trouble.
Also, they still do ~ 1/2 their damage through dots even when CCd.
Genuinely shocked there’s not more SPs in EU.
Weren’t RMP and Jungle meta for most time of SL? Wasn’t rogue a meta class in most expansions PvP wise? The availability of stuns always defined meta! See what happened to WW after they removed FoF stun!
I am definitely not saying its the only reason, but another reason in their favor!
Sure, but I was addressing your point regarding mobility; feral/rogue have never had uptime as an issue as long as I’ve played.
That being said, stuff like mage/lock and splay were also excellent in bfa and slands (depending on the patch) and they did really well even without stuns, ya know?
Obviously stuns are great and important, but they’ve become more important in dragonflight and now in TWW than they were before IMO.
With an increase in importance of sustained PVE damage, the ability to shut something down while also blasting them just puts you SO far ahead in ways where it didn’t to the same degree, ya know?
Definitely not a downside, that’s for sure!
Sure, but we were never at a point where slows were that big and often passively applied, nor did ranges had such a toolkit to keep melees away from them.
DF was already really bad in that regard, but TWW reached a new dimension. Not only because they nerfed mobility from some melees like WW, but also increased potential of snares/roots from range of other classes.
But its the same here. I am not saying that this is the major reason for their domination, but another reason which makes them so dominant. They barely have any downtime, because their toolkit allow them nearly 100% uptime. If they would struggle with uptime like other melees, they would be less dominant!
People are out here making it seem like ww is just as bad as holy priest/frost DK.
DK is like WW and DH very bad on top ratings. You should check out
very informative!
Frost isn’t even the worst DK spec.
On flawed logic
I don’t know where the logic is flawed. Perhaps you just don’t understand what it’s all about.
It’s trying to use representation to prove something is strong or weak. When that’s not how representation numbers works
Hardly Monk is not that hard to play it does have a high skill cap. Your getting Wrekt because melee sucks. it’s a caster META.
As far as I understand it, the scaling is done in connection with the popularity. I think that’s pretty clever as it allows to compare specs with each other. The average rating of the top players of a specialization is also displayed, so its more than just static cutoffs.
I find this very informative and it also reflects pretty well what specs I play against on higher ratings. The ones he portrays as too weak, like Rshaman, are hardly ever seen!
This is called confirmation bias, not reality.
Rsham unless really overtuned is never very popular as it requires the sham to being pressing the gas pedal
What do you know about reality in terms of balancing this season with your not even 50 2s games in total?
I am sure you can prove that with something?
Yeah history.
What does that have anything to do with what I said?
I said representation doesn’t say what is strong or not.
I don’t need to have play hundreds of games to understand representation=/=strength.
And what you said is in fact confirmation bias.
But don’t sit behind a lvl 10 character and then talk about people’s games played.
