We don’t need a king, in fact we should have scrapped that whole High King concept right after it was conceived.
DID they?
(rewatches trailer)
Okay, but I’m having a hard time imagining that the Alliance will accept Thrall as their king!
We needed this.
Genuinely left me dumbfounded with this take. Feels like you’ve never seen characters along the likes of Aragorn or Conan. The Anduin before looked like someone who sat in the makeup chair for 3 hours before every cutscene. The Anduin we got today looks like someone who’s been through Spartan training for 2 years.
“And what was the inspo for that haircut? That one viral Britney Spears video right after she shaved her head?” It’s actually called a crew cut more or less. Very popular cultural haircut for men. You seem super out of touch with general tropes of masculinity in fiction.
I quit right after Sanctum and never set foot in SL again so I totally skipped that part but I watched all the cinematics and cutscenes and that was never mentioned in any of them so it might have been just a throwaway line in a post quest dialog or something. Either that or I’ve completely repressed all my memories of SL, lol. Still, he’s had plenty of time to brood… and shave.
Maybe they were basing him off of the Not-Luke from the “Star Wars” sequels? In which case I just have to say Not-Luke was not a bad character. And Anduin is no Luke Skywalker.
I liked his new look. Signifies a change etc…
Sad to see Thrall have grey hairs now [feel so old]
I wonder how he’ll look in game… it’s good to start seeing him mature and get into that leader role.
I’m curious what turalyon is up to and how that’ll go once anduin takes back the role of king.
it was. in the one with him visiting sylvanas in the maw
So he’s lost his self-confidence via kink-shaming himself? A very odd choice indeed given the variety of exotic races and magics available on Azeroth.
Who did he kill? Because the only one I can think of that he attacked was the Archon and us player characters. We didn’t die (canonically, anyway, he caused a lot of wipes kek) and neither did the Archon.
I get him having trauma over the whole thing but it’s been 5 years and he really didn’t even do anything, he should be past most of it by now.
He still was involved in the night fae attack and I do recall a lotta dead night fae
Also you really don’t get over being forced to be that aggressive, and then discover you actually liked it. Thats what really got to him.
This isn’t stuff you just “get over”.
Not “get over” no, but learn to live with and move on. 5 years is plenty of time for that. And Anduin was barely involved in the Night Fae thing. That was all Sylvanas. Anduin just walked into the tree and took the mahic macguffin.
Ain’t really up to other people to decide that ( Outside of the writer but you get what I mean I hope )
He didn’t even do anything.
Jaina and the group saved him before he was made to do anything other than stab Kyrestia.
They’re acting like he committed genocide or something./
Yeah exactly. I can’t think of anyone whom he hurt or killed but again I didn’t play after Sanctum so he might have stabbed the odd NPC in that silly zone with the floating orb.
As for what others are saying about not being able to come to terms with liking having THE POWER (best read in He-man’s voice) when he had spent his entire life prior to this as a pacifist… have you forgotten that he lead the Alliance forces at the siege of Lordaeron? He got over his pacifism pretty quick after SW filled to the brim with NE refugees after Sylvanas war-crimed the hell out of their tree.
you forget, sir, that the forums are populated by the manliest of men. emotions have no place here. regret is redundant. we will all moan and groan when 1 skill of 1 class is OP, but trying to understand a character? that’s just a big no-no.
anduin should just get over everything c’mon, but visit the class forums and people are groveling and soiling themselves that their spec will not be meta this patch, and they won’t get EZ invites for those mythically challenging +4s.
if he hasn’t gotten over it, perhaps he should stay in the Maw, or Bastion, or a small room in a monastery and stay there where’s not in the way of the rest of us who still happily muderhobo our way through life on Azeroth. I have zero interest in listening to his woes for expansion number whatever.
If he needs more time to heal, let him do it off-screen where I don’t have to listen. I’m not completely unsympathetic, but I’m here to play my violent immature power fantasy, not help him through therapy.
-Dude’s father dies fighting the Legion, Anduin is forced to take control of the Alliance at a weak point when the world is on the brink and scrambling to catch up
-Then has to handle the Horde during a global faction conflict
-Said conflict ends with his abduction and being forced to take a backseat in his own mind while his body is used to commit various atrocities and almost aids in ushering in the end of Azeroth.
To say most people would never recover from this would be an understatement. He has no idea how much of the domination was him versus the presence in his mind, he doesn’t know if there are lingering traces of that domination, and it terrifies him.
Also Anduin canonically has chronic pain on top of all of that. Last I checked its around negative energy. So yeah. THE LAD IS GOING THROUGH IT
