WTH Did They Do To Anduin!?

Just give him a laxative so he can poop out the light. :poop:

It’s hilarious that these forums often complain about not liking WoW’s story, while also simultaneously wanting a well written World of Warcraft story where men just sit around shouting and beating their chests and flexing their muscles, but showing no emotions whatsoever.

Yeah wow, sounds like a good story, definitely very deep, can’t wait to play World of Mancraft.

 I think Thrall did just that.

Yeah, it was mentioned in the prepatch. IIRC Horde got Lor’themar and Thalryssa discussing their marriage and Baine and Mayla discuss Anduin.

According to Baine (via correspondence to Genn), Anduin was still in the Shadowlands as of the prepatch.

Like I said above. It’s Warhammer brain. They love the setting purely because they don’t understand it.

Goodness OP, get over it.

Twinks are old, Daddy are the new thing.

In all seriousness though there’s a number of issues going on some of it maybe spiritual vs psychological if you think about it.

He could feel that the light wasn’t fully there for him when he needed it in the maw, he could be upset that the maw was as bad as it was and needs to know how the light could let it happen. To be honest with the story of SL and basically the dark running ramped and certain things being suppressed yet Anduin did still have a bit of his power. I’m feeling like the energy that comes from priests and paladins is actually from Azeroth and not any other source. However I never read the books so my theory here might be able to be easily debunked.

i love this Anduin just saying

And yet Arthas and Sylvanas also had that same dang arch and were found guilty. Sylvanas not only felt great remorse for those same feelings QUICKLY accepted those actions and was eager to redeem herself. With NO TEARS.

No slack is going to be given, there have been too many weak story plots. Enough with the weakness and emotions. Its an over-played trope, there is nothing heroic about Anduin anymore and I would not follow him through a puddle just as I would rather push Thrall off a cliff than help him with anything.

I never read the books either. I pretty much just take what is ingame and fly by the seat of my pants to fill in the blanks as best I can so I can always be very wrong but I still give it a shot.

I do recall him saying that at the end of SLs. Then, during SLs he and Sylvanas have a couple of conversations where she’s trying to talk him into cooperating with the jailor and it’s during one of those convos that he states he understands why she did what she did throughout her undead existence.

I took that to mean that he understood her fear and drive to change things as she saw how the Afterlife was all jacked up and it’d be unbearable to spend eternity in such a place in such a way.

But that’s just how I took it. That would also explain how his head got messed up a bit, too but nothings forever as we’ve seen in this cine so I think it’ll be interesting and is intriguing where it’s going to go.

Who was Sargeras really after with that sword and who/what is Xalanth are questions I was wondering about for awhile now.

Also, Sargeras is a terrible communicator. You’d think for someone that powerful he’d at least be able to just tell you but no, he doesn’t.
Just stabs a planet instead.

They gave him a scruffy beard and aged him to look more badass but he still whines in the entire cinematic, then suddenly at the end he flips a switch and decides to help. Art, as always, did great, but from a narrative perspective, this cinematic feels like a miss.

Awhile back ago I responded to someone who said something similar with her redemption arc. Honestly right now it’s a lot to type but I could probably make a whole forum thread on this subject alone.

“Why would a game where the bonds forged between people form a core part of the story have a cinematic where a character with a deep bond to another character can convince him to do something. Completely unrealistic”.

the alliance needed a king and they finally gave us one at lease looks wise, now we see if he can act like one as well.

Tell us you never trusted another person without telling us

Only half true, todays collage students cant even get approved for a mortgage.

Good heavens, what kind of colleges have you been to? :grimacing:

Alliance can’t have nice things. It’s a Dev mandate.

only 5 years? pfft amateur. Thundraxx hasn’t had one in roughly 20.

He’s been having nightmares of Sylvanas every night since Shadowlands.

I know I do
. Almost to a literal sense.
