Eh… it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. It just was. It could have taken place in text bubbles and had the same level of impact. I know it wasn’t meant to have impact, it was just two ol’ chumps… I mean chums catching up. But I like my cenimatics to be more exciting/thrilling/dramatic! Unless Blizzard is planning on making every character exchange voiced and animated (I would be okay with that) they should leave the “hey, how are you’s” to just text/audio and save the nifty animated stuff for like car chases and explosions!
So, yes, WoW dialogue is usually cheesy middle school play-level. But honestly, that was kind of what the game was for years–big, dramatic speeches, action hero quips and huge emotional outbursts and crying each others’ names.
That was WoW’s thing. It owned it. It was cheesy as hell, but they leaned so hard into it that it became part of their identity.
This new cinematic isn’t bad, by any means. But it doesn’t feel like WoW.

Too each their own.
Its not that I hate WoW’s more cheesy and over the top moments but it’s also nice to see actual emotion and expression. I think you can have both dramatic moments as well so long as the reasons match up.
I did not hate DF’s cutscenes but for most of them I was saying to myself “people dont talk like this for the situation given”
I liked the cinematic more than the story. I honestly didn’t like the story. I haven’t played through the Telogrus Rift thing yet. I’m hoping to get to that in the next few days. My work schedule is borked and one of my friends decided to buy Abiotic Factor, so I spent 4 hours last night playing that.

That was the most accurate non-spoiler description of any questline ever.
At least we got a couple of name reveals, one we knew about and one we didn’t…at least I don’t think we knew the second one.
