Not sure why you felt the need to address this to me (as if all Alliance think alike) but since you didā¦
I have not said in any of the threads Iāve posted in that I think the Horde should not be able to use the bee (in fact I have said I think they should). My focus has been on the exclusivity as it relates to the existence of the quest lines to get the mounts not the actual mounts themselves other than stating what they are so people know what Iām referring to.
The issue that a lot of Alliance players had with the faction mounts is that there was not the same variety as the Horde got - something which Ion acknowledged in the AMA where he teased the bee mount in the 1st place. This bee should have been a faction mount imo but since it isnāt I donāt see why it shouldnāt work the same way as the 2 Horde raise a mount quest lines.
As for āsuper special privilegeā hahaha sure if you say so
I addressed it to you because you were the first one in the thread to link the two dino reskin mounts as the equivalent to the bee. But the post was directed to the alliance as a whole.
As for the rep mounts 4 of the 6 on Horde side are different versions of the pterrordax model, the same as the one everyone keeps linking as one of the Hordeās special exclusive mount. The other two are new models, but as also available as a drop for Alliance players. So yes, the Horde got the better end on rep mounts, but lets not pretend that all of theirs were super awesome and amazing new models.
I think Bliz tried to make it up to Alliance with the service medal mounts. The moonsaber mount was very nice looking. The bat mount that the Horde get is almost identical to the bat mount that that arathi rare drops, and itās just a unarmored version of the one sold in the store.
Thereās zero reason why they canāt put a similar, slightly altered horde bike in the game though. Alliance complained about not getting their bike when the rules specifically stated only the winning bike would be available. If Blizz could change the rules for alliance, they can make another bike for horde players.
Not that I personally care. I have the one that won the contest. (I actually voted for the alliance one because the real life bike was all shiny chrome and stuff, and I wanted a shiny mount. Considering the one that made it into the game looks nothing like the real one, Iām just as glad it lost.)
Yes, there is. It was a televised contest. By making the winning bike available in any regard in some way other than televised, they violate multiple US laws, and as such would be subject to quite a big fee from the government.
You can blame all of the tv trivia shows that rigged their stuff back in the 50s.
Now any form of televised contest is highly highly scrutinized and has a ton of laws involved.
The Alliance bike was allowed to exist because they never explicitly stated it would NOT be in the game. They simply said that only the winners would be getting the bike for free. As such, by putting a price tag on the Alliance bike, they allowed the Alliance to get it while staying in the confines of the law.
However, they are not allowed to put a price on the Horde bike as that would violate the law, nor can they recolor it, alter it, etc. and insert it, as that would be seen as attempting to circumvent the law.
This thread is 2 months old. At the time we did not know whether it was actually only for the Alliance - and my point was his question had been answered several times over in the numerous previous threads before he made his. But way to necro this one instead of posting in more current threads
Oh sorry, I had multiple tabs open and replied to a few, including comments on the current guides on how to obtain it with the exact same question, please punish me for doing so! But way to be a wannabe forum mod, you go gurrrl
