I was leveling with my girlfriend in Maraudon when we were randomly banned. We received an e-mail stating that our account was closed due to hacking/exploits. The only reason I can think of is Blizzard’s automated bot detection triggered our accounts for some reason. I have never botted/exploited the game, or any game, so there is no risk of any kind of PC contamination.
Upon receiving our bans, we immediately submitted appeals. Her ticket was met with a friendly GM, Game Master Kihibacy, that immediately escalated her ticket to their Specialist Team, mine, not so lucky. I have submitted upwards of 6 appeals now begging for my ban appeal to be escalated to the Specialist Team as well, only to be met with GM auto replies stating that the appeal has been reviewed and will not be overturned.
I have 12 years invested into this account and countless memories with friends and family. That being said, I would never risk jeopardizing it. To have my account wrongly banned on Christmas Eve with absolutely no GM support to help investigate the issue, it feels like I’ve been robbed of all my joy in my free time and the Game Masters that are supposed to help set things right are doing nothing.
My girlfriend and I use World of Warcraft to spend our time together while I’m away on military deployments. This happening after taking time off for the holidays to play just makes it that much worse for us. I don’t know what else to do now, other than try to make my case on the forums. then there was the totally not automated bans of several streamers mid stream.
Now 1…wanted it. He asked players to report to ban him lol.
Asmongold…was a wtf is this one. Noting I don’t even like the dude. Still, the ban out of the blue is messed up, even for people not on my favorite people list.

if you are innocent then there is 2x things i’m thinking about.
1-there was some sort of hacking program running on your pc especially those which inject memory while you’re playing wow. “even if it was not used for wow it will still get you banned”
2-you probably grouped with hacker or exploiter and had benefits from that group. “such as hacker boosting you in dungeon or something”
that could be the reasons for triggering a ban on your account.
If the two things you are thinking of is that OP wasn’t legitimately wronged, then you’re not commenting right.

also note, buying gold gives you ban and sometimes they just type ban reason “exploit”
I’m new to the forums so I didnt hit reply by accident lol.
As stated, there is no hacking software on my PC. I could see #2 being possible. There was a 3rd party member that was banned but I don’t know who he is. If that is the case though, my question is why did my girlfriend get unbanned with an apology and time credited back to her account and I can’t seem to find a GM to elevate mine to the Specialist Team? I know the answer, and that’s why I’m here now.

I think I raised maybe 4-5 tickets in my close to 20 years of wow and I always got a responses from a human being that was willing to work with me. Not necessarily do what I want to happen but at least explaining me why it’s not possible.

When you say leveling in mauradon, do you mean playing with a group as normal or neing boosted?
I love when people use that as an example. Umm asmongold bought gladiator in legion on stream off other streamers. No ban. Let’s not pretend the man is innocent.

This story is all over the place, a 3rd party member who you don’t know was also banned? How do you know they were banned if you don’t know them?

Because I have 2 accounts. I immediately logged on to my second account and /who the party members I was with. One party member was missing so it’s fair to assume he was banned as well.
The customer support forum would be a better fit for this. Good luck on your appeal.

Lol this is on my second account on the anniversary server, if i get unbanned i will never boost again. @Lorethon, its not against TOS, therefore its not cheating
