Hoping to get some guidance. I Have been gaming a lot in TBC anniversary, maybe too much ill admit. I got my rogue to 70 full pre bis and did some leveling on alts last night. Woke up this morning to a PERMANENT Ban.
I’ve had this account for over 15 years and i could go on about all the amazing memories and accolades i got but i think it stands for itself to say this really hurt. What hurts the most is that it is for “Hacking” and i barley use addons outside of questie. I am hoping a GM can help me get this sorted out. I’ve created an appeal and done some research and found out that i’m not alone in this.
Times are tough for me right now and I really do turn this game to escape some of the more difficult things going on. Would greatly appreciate any advice.
When you appeal, a second pair of eyes takes a look at the evidence Blizz has and either upholds the account action, removes it, and sometimes, rarely, lessens it. We have seen a couple overturns. But, even though those were recent, it is rare.
Since it’s the highest level account punishment, they don’t throw out permabans lightly and they likely double or triple check to make sure before actioning the account. If they see you were active for an inhumanly long period of time, with little or no breaks between inputs, they know you’re either account sharing (could even be having another person physically sit at your PC) or botting.
Some extra notes: If you multi-box, absolutely ANYTHING that can “streamline” the process of managing multiple clients, will result in a ban. Even built in Windows features like being able to scroll inactive windows, repeaters/macros on your mouse or keyboard(both software and hardware level), a physical motor spinning your mouse wheel for you, a motor spinning a cam that makes a little arm raise and lower onto a key to press it (people that try to create physical anti-afk systems like this always crack me up), you name it, all are bannable.
All you can do is appeal and that’s it. Nobody here can help you and the eyes that handle the ticket, don’t read any of this discussion here.
A ban-wave can consist on 10,000+ accounts actioned, and we often see a handful of players actioned who post on the forums (there maybe more of course who don’t post on the forums) who have appealed and had the action overturned.
Blizzard forum SFA’s here have also stated many times that the number of false positives in a ban wave are surprisingly low and not as common as many hope.
