Wrong tax rate

I was charged the wrong tax rate on my recent monthly subscription.

My address is correct on my account, but it is still charging my old State’s (higher) tax rate.

It looks like the billing address for a payment method cannot be edited once added. But you can remove a payment method and re-add it to make sure it’s using the correct billing address.

Battlenet account > Payment Methods

Also, if you go to Account Details, you can check to see what addresses you have there and if you want, delete any old ones.

I’ve been using PayPal.

It’s the correct State.

Then I’d suggest checking your PayPal account to see what the billing address is in there. Perhaps it’s going by that?

Address in PayPal is correct as well. I guess we’ll have to wait for a Blue to chime in.

I doubt the Blues here can help with this issue. They are not GMs and not involved in billing issues. The most they can do is take a look and possibly tell you what may have caused the problem, but that’s not guaranteed and they cannot fix the issue. Since this is a billing issue, I’d suggest submitting a ticket under Payments.

How long ago did you update the info? It could simply be that it was processing right before you updated the info.

They can at least point me in the right direction as to where to go/what to do to rectify this.

Last month. About three weeks ago.

I’m not entirely certain what the tax rate should be set at, but I’ve forwarded the information to have it looked at.

You could put in a ticket to ask. Barring a better path, probably failed, but there is a non specific path also.

Could it be it was pulling in old information from when you had set up the subscription prior? Could setting up a new sub help.

Might help to know your old state tax rate, and your new states.

So from what I’ve learned the address you have set up is checked when you initially add PayPal to your wallet. If that information has changed you may need to reset your subscription by “Changing the Card”. You can set it up the same, but that will allow our systems to get that update.
