I said that the lore (how azeroth works, how species works, major plot points for characters) within the books was not created by Golden. Because it wasn’t. And she says this on record.
You are correct. A quick google search shows that the novels are not canon by default. Blizzard picks and chooses what aspects of some novels are canon.
OMG your acting so obtuse if they tell her to write it and its official lore in a book then she wrote official lore this is such a stupid conversation
Your wrong and you did say books arent official and you are just backpedaling go away
Stop lying
Yes they are and this proves it
Everything released by Blizzard except mods and the table-top RPG is considered canon.[1] This includes games, novels, short stories, manga, and comics[1][2] as well as trailers and cinematics.
Worgen tailers act just as stubborn obtuse as high elf people its dumb now I know why people ignore your threads
This is half true and murky. It’s pretty much what the wow team decides is current enough or relevant enough to stay canon.
The folklore book, for example, was stated up front to have ambiguous canon on purpose-- but what is canon is that the characters in azeroth tell these stories.
Here is a great demonstration of why I accuse you of being dishonest:
Right here. Anyone can expand what you quoted of me and see the other, far more relevant, half of that idea:
Anytime someone uses the word “but” they are precluding anything before that word. For example, “I like peanut butter, but I’m allergic.” See how this works? Saying such a person likes peanut butter would be a very intentional misrepresentation of what they said.
Shadowmeld is a global part of the race, not something just for the girls from their BFF Elune. It is a retcon. The male/female division of roles was 10,000 years old. It is a retcon. I reversed the order of these 2 quotes to also point out exactly how you contradict yourself. If “new lore” could be “added” for night elves, so can it for worgen. Yet another reason the second half of that previous quote was substantially more relevant and it was fundamentally dishonest to discard it.
A long time ago, a worgen once had a tail. But after it spend days chasing it, the elders decided it should be removed and any future worgen who were found with a tail would be executed.
Thus after years of evolution, the worgen tail vanished never to be seen ever again.
“The appearance of a werewolf in its animal form varies from culture to culture, though it is most commonly portrayed as being indistinguishable from ordinary wolves save for the fact that it has no tail (a trait thought characteristic of witches in animal form), is often larger, and retains human eyes and a voice.”
IRL Neandertal humans carved idols and painted art, probably religious in nature, depicting men with animal heads and features. These included tailless Tauren and worgen with tails.
And yet and optional tail will not break WoW. Sure there are those who dont want it… Thats why we want it to be optional so you can choose if you want a tail or not. Till you pay for my account you can’t tell me what options I would like to see for my character. And until Blizzard follows there own lore to the letter such as 8 foot tall Worgen then you can’t tell me it breaks lore to have a tail on Worgen.
None of those pictures reflect the reality of the game’s setting. If blizzard wanted worgen to have tails they would have added them when the race launched. Worgen don’t have tails because they don’t. Not because blizzard is stupid. Using non-canon spin off games, and decades old concept art does not change the current reality.
