The restriction on PVE to PVP transfers really isn’t an issue anymore because Blizzard created a BIGGER one. They opened up transfers to realms already over crowded, meaning people will go to those instead of the mediums that actually need it. Realms like mine weren’t even put on the list. This means you’d have to pay to come here. Who the hell would do that when they could go to a much bigger realm for free???
The moronic transfer list has sealed the fate for medium realms. They nuked our last hope from orbit. We’re now on life support. The best we can hope for is to remain stagnant with the current pop. But there is no hope of growth because no new people or transfers will ever come. People ONLY use a transfer to go up, not down. We have been frogged over when we should have been the destination.
If they really wanted us all on the same 2 realms, then they should have just opened a source transfer from ALL realms, but they didn’t do that either. So if you are on a medium, you can’t transfer off without paying, and no one can transfer to you without paying. You have been stranded on sinking ship.
It should be clear by now that this was all just a hoax. They wanted to get resubs from dying low realms while not actually helping the population because they still want people to pay for transfers. So they open LOW → HIGH. Those people resub. But mediums are left to rot so players still have to pay. Think about it. If they properly balance the realms, then no one would have to pay for transfers anymore. They’re not going to do that. They want those transfer checks.
Personally, if my realm dries up, which there is serious risk of in the next few months thanks to Blizzard; I’ll just unsub. I’m not paying a transfer ransom which also allows me to lose all my favorite character names. No thanks.
