Write interesting characters you would like to see in a WoW Netflix adaptation

As the name states, what interesting characters would you put in a Netflix style adaptation of WoW? I’m not talking the big characters but the average day to day person who survives this universe we play in. (Think Flynn from BfA if you will). What story do you think would be compelling? I’ve thought about this for months after watching the last season of the Witcher (and all of them repeatedly) for me I came up with two characters:

  1. A tauren druid who is trying to save as many children as she can desperately during the fall of Camp Taurajo. (Finding them all, saving them from quilboar, pillagers, ect)
  2. The plaguelands we didn’t see in Warcraft, people boarding up their homes and trying to defend themselves from the scourge after the Culling. Who made it out? What are the stories of those who fought and died in what are now the Plaguelands?
Those are just my personal headcanon stories but there is so much fantastic lore and room for stories thoughts and ideas; what kind of stories would you like to see be represented in film?

I want our little helpers included somehow.

I was so disappointed by the lack of story depth in Bastion that I had to write extensively about steward society, both Kyrian and Forsworn. About how they both suffered heavily in the battle for Bastion, and despite my main character’s disdain for the corrupted Forsworn ones, how she ultimately saved them from being disposed of after the war.

Easy. The characters used in Hearthstone like Brukan, Tamsin, Guff. And all the others in that mode.

Alexandros Mograine as he gains the Ashbringer and lays waste to the scourge only to be betrayed and stabbed through the heart by his eldest son Renault. Only story I care to see done atm

They were rather adorable, was quite sad we had to leave them behind as they were such wonderful helpers. Granted if I wrote a fan story including them it’d be some tragic love story as my vulpera got so attached to her helper and it to her that parting was heartbreaking. My vulpera vowing to return to Bastion some day in a sense coming back for them. I mean come on my vulpera is a fox and there was plenty of the stewards the same size as Vulpera. I’m shocked we didn’t get them as playable characters after Shadowlands as I’d of rolled a steward in a heartbeat

Said Netflix Adaptation better be Animated(like an Anime or Cartoon) by the way.

Varian Wrynn played by Idris Elba and Arthas played by Elliot Page.

And here I am thinking it was the worst/ugliest zone ever made and all I wanted was for it to be over during leveling.

I really loved the novel Before The Storm, specifically for how it delved into some conversations about the existence of the everyday forsaken “living” in the undercity. Give me a show about regular undead people. It could be like Friends!

The lazy peons harvest cactus apples in the Valley of Trials getting picked off one by one by a mysterious beast, but the overseers don’t believe them.

Lets take the easy route and use the premise of “Player got isekai’d into wow as their main”

we could debate if the “player character” starts at lvl 1 or gets their max lvl character. or some mix.

we could debate if they could respawn on death or if it was more 1 life to live.

Like, from a respawn stand point, that could be the “rare” thing they have going for them. maybe its even seen as a curse. who knows. which could work out fine so long as most the npc’s etc are still living with the 1 life rule.

for more comedy base i guess we could give “everyone respawns” rule aside from curses etc. in which case npcs could see death as an annoyance or completely ignore the dangers. maybe a murloc attached to the farmers leg as they continue farming without reacting to it.

if the player is brought in to the world via summon then they should prob keep all their in game stuff they already got.

if reborn in the world, sure they start off at lvl 1 but should have a XP boost modifier so they can lvl up quicker than normal. ( no one wants to watch a 52 episode anime of a player grinding boars before it gets half decent in season 2)

a unique thing that could be done is for the player to start off at lvl 1 but to have a bonus 30 starting skill points. the world could anime style acknowledge status windows, skill trees etc. we also remove lvl caps and allow multi classing so builds can be a lot more interesting.

as for the story, it could start off open world with no clear goal if the Reborn/ start at lvl 1 option is taken.

if the player is summoned at max lvl and has their current game gear then we could use what ever generic save the world plot the game likes to give for the expansion.

depending on who did the summoning, maybe the first ones? the player could choose to stay in the world or maybe is given the line “if you save the world, you can return to your world while keeping everything you gained and learned in this one”

imagine coming back with Shapeshifting Druid powers and powerful trinkets toys… and Mounts.

we could also go with the cross reality storyline where the players discover that the first ones are really the Developers. and the World of Warcraft is actually a simulation created using alien tech which in reality creates an alternate reality.

the plot has “big bad” trying to get to the “real world” so they can “break free of they Cycle of Destiny” so they can have “true free will” and not the “illusion” of it.

“we” players are some how pulled into the game. and while leveling up and trying to stop the big bad we end up chasing them back into the real world for the final battle. but in a bit of an intermission phase we have to bring to the attention of the Developers that what they created is a “real alternate reality” and not a “simulation” and need to get their help by being granted “developer only items” to defeat the “big bad”

maybe the alternate reality has grown beyond their control and becomes self sustaining. maybe we have to create another alternate reality in season 2 so the players can reach greater levels and gain new abilities so they can then use that to stop them.

My main.
She looks great in the cinematics.
And tragic heroism makes a good story.

All these ideas would be great if they were anime style like Netflix’s Castlevainia.

You saw the video of them drinking together, right?

Weird take. Bastion is better than any zone in DF.

Of course. I want more of that. Just longer. Like 20 minute shorts or something. Then build off of that.
