Wrath Mining

Is there a reason why mining is god awful? Few nodes, long respawns, with a bunch of people farming it makes for a bad time, but a waste of player time fighting over what one can find. On top of that, it creates bad behavior of ninja nodes while someone is dealing with trash aggro near them. Then the high prices on the AH to work on professions. Its a bad system. I’m asking for quality of life.

Mining has always been this way, until Cataclysm.
I wouldn’t be opposed to faster respawn prices. Sure it’ll drive AH prices down (more availability) but at least you’re gonna be able to get some.

I believe what they had changed was that even if someone mined a node, it would stay up for a minute or 2 for anybody else that follows before despawning and starting the clock to next spawn. A fair solution.

Same for herbs.

And yes, the mechanic with having mobs near nodes is very annoying and yes, jerks will wait until you aggro then take it away. At least they can’t come mine on top of you like they could in TBC when you needed 4 whacks to empty nodes.

I’m sorry, what? It took me 5-8 hours of mining to get 15-20 stacks of Adamantite in the prepatch.

It takes me 2 hours to get 30+ stacks of Saronite now.

Mining is EASY in wotlk. I made over 40,000 gold off of mining alone last week before more people hit 80 and dropped the prices (and I should have made more but I prioritized other things at the time), and even now I can make 2-3k gold off of 2 hours of mining in the evening after a day of dailies and arena.

I mean, the respawns are insanely fast already. I’m getting 30+ stacks of saronite ore off of 2 hours of mining while competing with 10-20 other miners in any given Layer on my server.

edit: Compared to what I experienced in TBC, Wotlk Respawns are lightning speed. Not to mention there’s hundreds of nodes, where TBC zones had maybe 50-100 at most.

I know it doesn’t help everyone but I like Stoneclaw Totem.
Bang and scoot.

Ah ok they already fixed it then. Glad to know, thanks for the info.
Im still farming in TBC right now until I get flight again in WotLK, only 72.

I’m nearing 90k myself, what the hell are we going to do with all this gold?

Definitely haven’t had issues finding nodes, heck actually been surprised at how much titanium I’ve run across. Sadly some people will always be douchecanoes though.

you can buy 4 whole nobles decks today with that gold, buddy

or

20+ nobles decks on monday

usopp is that you

I could, but no idea how hard/easy it’ll be to sell greatness trinkets. On paper they should go up in price, but in reality, could be hundreds on AH.

Im only at 30k now after buying my Dalaran Ring, getting my Titansteel Destroyer made, and leveling engineering to 450.

And I wanna make the motorcycle once I get Alliance Vanguard to Exalted, so I know Im spending at least 12-15k on that.

Honestly I already feel poor lol.

Edit: I regret not going harder on mining after getting flying back during launch week. I was downright casual about it and now it feels like even with my gains I missed an opportunity lol

Mail some to me ez

You shan’t have my coin fiend! It is mine! My… precious…

Dang we out here poor with 700g

What ive noticed is that mining x herbing bots are starting to be in every zone yoinking everything 24/7.

Luckily I’m on locked server, no bots. Bless.

That means nothing. Skyfury has been locked and it’s riddled with bots. Although most of them are dk bots. Haven’t seen any gathering bots that were obvious

Skyfury hasn’t been locked as long as my server, so some bots are leftovers that weren’t banned. Here I haven’t seen a single bot, and I’ve farmed so so much ore in Icecrown for last week.

I picked unholy on my DK primarily because of mining agro.
