They overestimate their power. Wrath is held in high regards. Besmirching it with their “modern” (to put it mildly) “philosophies” (to be generous) will make more people irate than the potential/theoretical changes themselves.

You could ignore it. It’s not difficult.
Then just make it one or remove the emblems. Sometimes it’s not about gear or currency but enjoying the ability to hop online and play a dungie without an hour to form a group, ya know. Some of us play the game, some of y’all sweat the max grind. Focus on yourself. RDF won’t mess with you staying above the curve lol.

Extra emblems and gold upon completion. Faster rate of access and completion due to no travel time.
That’s not the same as exclusive rewards.
And of course nothing is stopping you from forming a group then using RDF if you really want to cherry pick your group.

They are rewards that you only get by using the RDF, correct? You do not get extra emblems for completing a dungeon otherwise, correct? That means it is exclusive to the RDF, yes?
And everything else is telling me to. No thank you.
So cull the rewards lmao. The solution is simple, put RDF in and tweak rewards so the crying sweat lords stay ahead of the curve.

Once again that’s not what exclusive means.
And there is of course also a very finite cap on the value of both those things, so there’s no problem if you get them marginally slower.

Not going to lie, I’ve gone from being really excited for Wrath Classic to rapidly cooling to genuinely questioning whether I want to invest any time playing it, in a quite short period of time.

Exclusive: limited to the object or objects designated.
Are these bonus badges and gold limited to the RDF? Yes? That’s exclusive.
The “finite cap” is 14 extra a week. Two weeks and that’s an extra piece of gear.
That’s a start. Another would be releasing it at the content patch it was intended for, that being ICC.
Nah, just cull the rewards. Stop making it harder than it needs to be.

The raid badge gear is significantly more than 28 badges, and that is also going to be dwarfed by what you get from raiding(not to mention the actual gear you get from raiding)
And of course noone cares if they leave the quest givers in dal instead of directly from RDF, which once again if you love chat pugging so much you can still do so then use RDF.

Those extra marks will mean getting a piece a week earlier than originally intended. We already see the developers pining for squishing item levels because things progress too quickly. Adding RDF early will only fuel their desire to change things at a disgusting rate.

Or alternatively, using LFD to solve the real problem in Classic, which is the relative scarcity of low-level dungeon runs on many servers. Soooo, introduce LFD for Classic (1-60) dungeons at pre-patch, for Outlands (58-70) dungeons in the first major content patch, and for Northrend (68-80) in the final major content patch. Or alternatively, if you’re really worried about it, never add the Northrend dungeons to the LFD tool. Just keep them for lower-level dungeons.
But it’s just too late now. It’s done. Blizz made their decision, and they’ll stick to it no matter what the players actually want. Because it has become Blizz’s way.
There was a brief period when it seemed like Blizz had changed their ways. They were saying all the right things. But it has become obvious from announcements for Wrath Classic and Dragonflight that there has been no fundamental change in mindset at Blizz from BfA and SL.

100% this … i can 100% agree this is where it would be needed most. Sounds like a fair tradeoff to me

Pro tip someone being one your friend’s list or guild does not in fact make them your slave who will run a dungeon with you whenever you demand.
