people werent too happy with the systems of bfa like azerite, islands, azerite gear. shadowlands was very incomplete at launch and people were pissed you couldnt change covenants easily and such immediately + all the good beta feedback they did nothing about.
None of that was relevant for the first couple of weeks brah.
nothing is going to fix that cesspool of an excuse for pvp without any class differentiation and ridiculous cooldown trading amidst 1 shot mechanics
Again, reserve judgement until the game’s systems actually start to take hold and people learn how they actually affect the game.
Always trying to be a buzzkill… people can’t just be happy about a launch and fun start to an expansion.
shadowlands was pretty awesome at launch imo
There’s nothing wrong with being happy about it.
It was the very vibe that vanilla had. Why would I then decide to play another game, when I wanted to play the game that originally offered this in the first place, and for me had delivered for the first two years? When people asked for classic, did they want what we have now, which is essentially retail lite in form?
Moreover as a paying customer why should I not be angry for Blizzard on failing to uphold this as server populations were neglected and destroyed due to their part?
It was never gonna be the OG games… people knew the meta because the game was figured out already. I wasn’t actually saying go play another game… basically just saying that style of community is dead in WOW.
I don’t know what to tell you about the population and what not about vanilla or classic in general. I want no part of vanilla, imho it was by far and away the worst time period to play WOW. If something isn’t to your liking, make it known, fight for it. Just like people like myself want the best version of Wrath…
I mean, we did. We fought for it and got Classic. And then over time it was destroyed, with first the trojan horse of #somechanges starting with layers and then expanding to include tinkering with the RDF tool, item level changes, and other things.
From a gameplay stand point you are right Vanilla is worse. From an everything-else standpoint, vanilla will continue to remain as my most fond and looked back upon gaming time, hence why I am so passionate about it.
well you didn’t really think the game mode we beat 15 years ago will compete with Retail, did you?
i know classic players like to claim classic is comparable with retail but truly nobody believes that, right?
I don’t agree with it being better in any way really, but hey it’s not for everyone and I’m glad you enjoy it… you’re probably like me, you wanted an AUTHENTIC experience. It’s why I came to classic for Wrath, I wanted to feed my nostalgia… sadly I was kind of disappointed. I loath the new LFG system and want RDF, since they threw authenticity out the window… I’m also not someone who cares about knowing everyone so layering and the such don’t bother me.
If they are absolutely adamant about using the last patch for each expansion, then they’d include RDF, but they don’t want to for whatever reason. And it would be anachronistic perhaps, like rank 14 gear with modern itemization being released early on in vanilla classic. But Blizzard was never consistent.
The paint dried on BFA and Shadowlands in about three hours and 30 minutes, respectively.
Doubt it. People who came specifically for Classic are mostly staying with it or already burned out waiting for Ulduar. Retail is, for many of us, simply an awful hamster wheel concept. Its Diablo now. You level in one day, it means nothing, then you hop on the Mythic+ treadmill gaining the most bland gear in all of MMORPG history for +2ILVL increases, then you can do it in Raids if you want, or not, It doesnt matter! There is no progression system, you aren’t going anywhere, nothing will be unlocked with all your gear. Just another +1 difficulty for more bland Gear, like Diablo, except worse because Diablo actually had fun and interesting gear.
This along with the worst class design of all time it just has no lasting appeal.
North America arena wasn’t very active to start with, we should of had hateful weapons and gear for honor, keep deadly via arena points, forcing people to get 25 man kt weapons to be competitive killed it for lot of people.
The pvp release made no real sense, savage gear hateful, deadly all released at once but kept the savage weapons/hateful weapons out lol, we had weapons back in 2009 wotlk.
EU is still active, but they have larger pvp player base than NA.
yeah agreed, they got rid of borrowed power in dragonflight and made pvp gearing easy so lot of the North American arena players/streamers all went back to retail, I dislike retail because combat feels so bad, I prefer classic.
That hilarious.
maybe just dead cuz the meta is a joke, prot classes ruined the game, hpal is a million miles beyond other healers, and knockoff gimmicks are lame
not to mention naxx…again…for months on end
How so? I watched my bud play retail priest for an hour, your resource pool is unlimited, you can do everything anyone else can, it is droll and boring. Dunno how you guys play that crap. It’s basically fantasy MW2 instead of an RPG, which is not surprising.
