WRA seems kind of well...dead for RP

hot take: wearing the body parts of sapient creatures is weird in general

What about the skulls of my enemies? Like half my PvP mounts have them.

Hell, my undead’s armor has it.

Remember in Diablo II and you could collect player ears from duels? Why was that a thing? I always remember just throwing them on the ground

Sounds like you got an earful from dueling.

Fangs are less… floppy.

skulls are a body part

If RP was truly dead, surely someone would claim its death in their MRP.

MRP is truly dead tho

I personally reserve the taking of worgen skins being something reserved specifically for my DK since they’re the only ones remotely horrid enough to do that sine taking the medals of your enemy is much easier and doesn’t stink when it decays.

That said, Alliance hat, belt and boot market has never been better since the Vol’dun invasion.

reset the clock

it has been 0 days since Lohkash was weird about vulpera

The belt and boot part of that was more from what I’ve witnessed with how some people on Alliance RP their characters ‘reaction’ as I will call it to the Sethrakk Faithless.

Most the Alliance peeps who do the hat bit are worgen players with their top hat heritage armor.

It’s gratifying to see people acknowledge that attending “crossfaction” RP events on an Alliance character is generally pretty miserable.

That’s…honestly kind of a big problem that needs to start being addressed quickly. It’s detrimental to crossfaction RP and honestly could potentially harm Alliance RP in the long run.

Have you not heard? Alliance RP is dead. How can it be harmed?

Mm, little late for that. There’s a reason why crossfaction RP events now tend to be “three Alliance and forty Horde”, as Barrovihn mentioned earlier. That didn’t just happen.

That said, I don’t see it being particularly detrimental for Alliance RP. Ideally it will lead to more Alliance-centric RP events down the line.

It sounds as though people have had difficult experiences but “generally” seems a bit much. More often than not I’ve seen crossfaction RP end up being uplifting and encouraging.

Hell, I ran an event myself not long after the war ended which involved Horde and Alliance forces alike pledging themselves to fight harder for peace. That seemed uplifting for all sides. Aside from that many events I’ve attended have been very positive - and I’ve been on both sides.

Some events might be geared towards one side or the other - for instance I recall an “In remembrance of Teldrassil” event that was Alliance dominated - no doubt because it involved primarily Alliance themes. Conversely a fairly recent event commemorating the fall of the Undercity was much more Horde dominated; for understandable reasons. Many within the Alliance saw the destruction of the Undercity as fair and just.

But like… the issue is what? Differences of opinion in a conversational setting between two factions that have been enemies for a very long time? In one way that seems inevitable. Alliance and Horde loyalists are going to have very strong opinions on the war and how it was conducted - they’re not going to see eye to eye.

At the end of the day I reckon crossfaction RP has a lot of potential and is a good way to circumvent the “Choose a side” narrative that blizz forces on us. Sure it’s sometimes got its bad points but there’s been an awful lot of good come out of it too.

A big part of that is population. WRA Alliance is far from dead, I play there myself a fair bit and love it… But there’s no doubt it’s significantly smaller.
