WPVP classes/specs

Hey dudes, I’m just a filthy casual, i do a lot of world pvp, any recomendations beside dh? (not gonna play one). It’s usually 1v1’s so should be nice on those ones too.

Thanks!

Personally I have problems pvp’ing against druids (f***ing bear form) and pallies.

Dest warlocks are also strong in pve and pvp. Cloth-dps classes can be squishy in the pve but warlocks get the blueberry pet and it does a decent job of tanking for pve and then in pvp destlocks can monster damage with chaos bolt.

And of course,
Rogues. God damn obnoxious troublemaking &^%#&^#&*&%$!!! rogues

Yea! rogues are always ok on pvp right ? and have a high skill cap, i like that, you can improve a lot there.

Warlocks doing ok on wpvp? ive seen some hitting hard on voldun, but im afraid of being a caster on wpvp, many interrupts, and not much mobility

When it comes to WPvP, you can get your 1v1s, sure, but in most scenarios you’re dealing with 1vXs. So keep that in mind.

That’s when having high mobility/escapes comes in real handy. A lot of it is hit and run, or just run. You’re going to get ganged up on and you either have to live long enough to land a kill, or to escape, wait for them to disperse, and go back in.

Druid, Rogue, and to a lesser extent Windwalker would allow you to do this. Heck, even Hunter if you have good gear and corruptions (Feign Death -> Mount).

If you want something on the tankier side, Unholy Death knight will give you that plus some versatility in the I’m-a-melee-but-can-also-ranged department.

Ret could work fine but when you get stuck fighting anyone that can kite, you’re going to have to crutch on speed pots and other trinkets to keep up or you’ll be waddling until you run out of cooldowns and die.

Fury is a fair choice considering they’re almost unpeelable by most enemies and have good self-healing. If you want an escape as one you can go double leap, but to be honest I’m not sure what you’ll be giving up by using that.

Some info to differentiate Rogue and Feral:

Rogue: You’re mostly using your toolkit to punish bad trinkets and land kills. If it doesn’t look like you’re going to get the kill, you bail and wait for the right opportunity to go back in. If you get stuck in a stun without a trinket you’re in trouble, so really nailing down your cooldowns and enemy cooldowns is important so you understand when to do what. Some classes give leeway with this rule (cough DH cough), but you have to know this stuff as a Rogue.

Feral: Open, bleed up, kite, repeat. There are nuances, sure, but that’s pretty much the gist of it. If you really like to kite, I would recommend Feral over Rogue. Bear form-ing stuns is awesome, and you can travel form away behind LoS to get some heals off and recover. Instant flight form for escapes is also great.

Always gonna advocate for hunter. Like above posters have said it can be good for escapes (living action potion + pre-cheetah + breach and you’re zooting)

Between all 3 specs hunter can 1v1 any class in the game if played properly. They also are arguably the easiest class to use certain WPVP cheese mechanics so throwing that into the mix we’re pretty much unkillable

OMG Nice answers!! i have a hunter and i have a pretty good time as bm, have a lot of tools that can be used to make some plays like running up a hill and explosive trap or something like that, rogue i have an issue with, because on 1 v 1 are kind of gods, but 1 v * its kind of hard, because assa needs a whole setup to burst, so you cant change fast to another target. I might give feral a try, UH dk looks like an awesome spec too!

Master landing traps, big asset

UH has the added benefit of being able to just annihilate tanks and healers, unlike some DPS specs who can get cheesed on by them

Yeah it did feel like rogues were doing more damage this season but that’s when I dueled a 510k rogue at 450k hp so could be gear.

BM with high versa and wild protector is safer into rogues than survival imo; you can still take crucible to heal and have spirit mend too. Survival is good on paper for fighting assa but if they cloak your trap reset it becomes wayyyy harder to recover than BM.

Generally I like to living action potion the first stun and immediately trap, feign death, then mount to reset maxrange. Then start DPSing, stun their sprint will usually get a trinket. Once they reconnect usually with step you can HE trap, or engineer fear them if you have it -> disengage to reset range again. Flare this so you can catch the vanish and pretty much hold trinket for dangerous kidneys and turtle for when you don’t have a stop or escape for their damage.

As a hunter 1v1ing a rogue if they get you low and you don’t have anything to recover except bandage/spirit mend/food. Once you trap them pop FD to drop combat. Take off your gear with a gear set then either eat or spirit mend, HP scaling makes it so this will fullheal you instantly then you can put your gear back on.

Yea as a hunter you can duel quite good.

Anyone knows hows outlaw on wpvp ? with good vers etc ?

You will always do well with a druid or rogue, Locks are really strong right now if you are good.
Frankly most classes can do ok if you are good with them.
also WW is very strong 1v1 right now.

If you can track and adapt to your RtB results, you’ll be fine. Ranged Kidney Shot on a reduced cooldown is pretty dope. Not to mention two Crimson Vials.

Gonna throw one in the hat for Dh. They’re insanely overpowered. In addition to everything they have you’ll see Dh’s maximizing their cleave dmg to help them heal up off mobs in wpvp.

Yea thats why i dont want to play Dh, i dont like feeling op, and winning because of it

Try monk. Easy to pick up and rewarding to play.

UH dk is the hardest for me

Yeah, Unholy counters tanks and healers 1v1.
