Unions tribalize a workforce so that majority rule wins. Workers actively fight each other because the ability to negotiate their own pay with the employer has been stripped away by the Union.
If you would stop lying, maybe you could start talking about something you actually know?
Imagine managing people and then publicly announcing how bad they are at their job. What does that say about you as a manager and about the company you work for?
And you literally said Amazon workers are getting paid too much and that you are the employer they are negotiating with to get higher wages lol. You literally admitted that you don’t think they deserve higher wages. Imagine if they got to decide their on their own behalf, collectively, like, I dunno, a union.
Employees not in a union are rarely ever in a position to actually negotiate a pay. There is a reason that union jobs almost always pay better than non union jobs of a similar field.
There is a reason that employers engage in union busting whenever they can. Its not because they care about the little person. If they did, there wouldn’t need to be a union in the first place.
The contract usually includes layoff protections for that reason.
lmao I wasn’t even alive during the Soviet Union’s existence
edit: I lied I was actually only 1 years old in 1991 when it was fully collapsed and I was definitely being taught how to be a super communist as a baby
Before the contract goes into effect, the workforce shrinks because the employer has to absorb the costs when the contract goes into effect.
Soviets were around before the Soviet Union. Pay attention.
I started out as a basic associate and then, through my employer, became a manager. So, you lied about workers not being able to negotiate with their employer.
Within the context of this conversation…which is comparing to union workers.
A non union worker is rarely in position to negotiate. They can ask, but it rarely matters for the vast majority of jobs out there. Asking for a raise is not negotiating. That is begging for scraps. You can only negotiate when you have some sort of leverage. The vast majority of jobs, non unionized workers rarely have leverage.
Sure, occasionally they can threaten to quit and go to another company. But once again…for the vast majority of jobs in the US that is not an option to use in negotiating.
There is a reason why unions caused nearly every single quality of life comfort for the American worker. There is a reason why employers attempt to bust them whenever they can. Legally or not.
