WoW's bleeding because they can't keep new players and casual players

Agreed. Only thing keeping me in the game right now is Raid and M+. Every other aspect of this game is trash atm. I used to enjoy running old content for mounts, xmog, and gold but they’ve gutted gold gains for these things too many times. Mount drop rates are super low and once you have every piece of mog from a raid it feels like a colossal waste of time to run it, get no mount, and walk away with less gold than a single WQ would reward.

Why does WoW has no diminishing returns system for raid mounts? After 100 runs you should get it with a 100% drop rate.

Casual players used to at least be able to gear up and have fun doing battlegrounds but Blizzard added a rating gate so they killed that route for casual players to enjoy this game to its fullest. Thanks for ruining the fun Blizzard.

Yeah I think the whole RPG aspect dies when you add a timer. A timer does things to people, it does and yes I know “go go go go” has always been present in WoW but the “go go go go” has never been as bad until blizz added mythic +. And to be clear this is not to rag on those who like the mythic + system, you do you, its your money, you do you. It is just for me, timers are not my thing. It also doesn’t help that story line wise, WoW is very uninspiring. I am not sure if the writing is “bad” per say, but it does not excite me, it does not draw me in. Now I don’t if it because blizzard hires bad writers or perhaps they are good writers but their creative ability is hamstrung by the higherups, but current WoW lore I think is a good example of how to turn your playerbase off from the story. Please blizz, I am eagerly awaiting for that Sly redemption arc.

really another mount, never seen the appeal of having 1000 mounts… you only ride one at a time… considering how flying is now you fly to FP to take the FP to another zone to get on your mount.

Idk how to explain this to you so you can understand. When people eat food they need to relieve themselves a few hrs later. That time can be boring and you can access the forums on your phone. Also I’m at the shoreline rn for work and there’s nothing going on so it’s safe to assume that others have work with some downtime as well.

Trust me I would sooo rather be playing ffxiv then be on the forums and i do when I have access to my computer.

But alas WoW and it’s 6 month sub really bites itself on this one since I unsubbed but still have till December for it to run out. Since I already payed for it but don’t want to play the game me and others will be here talking about the problems of this game and why it made us quit and some other games.

Most mounts aren’t suited for the players though and look out of place. Lore- and heritage based vehicles/animals are more rare and gated behind rated PVP while those should have been made available for the casuals for a long time now.

Sadly this is the truth of WoW, especially now. All the systems seem designed by Daddy Blizz to either require treating it like a full time job, or paying the favored elite for access to any type of progression while buying tokens to do so. The upgradeble stuff from Korthia is an attempt to provide for the casual crowd, but the extreme RNG and timegating are most likely going to ruin it for me. Time will tell, and I have 7 days left to see what it says. :speak_no_evil::hear_no_evil::see_no_evil:

you remember when a rare was actually rare or you only seen a legendary on that one guy on the server… The feeling of importance to the terms rare and legendary have changed much… We need a new gear color magenta super epics!!!

now they put up some random npc off the roads a little bit, and call them rares in this game

Speaking as one of those that tried FFXIV’s free trial I enjoyed it so much after the failure that was SL I spent $125 of real money to play until 9.1 dropped. And based on the last 3 weeks I may be back to it fairly soon. Everything about it, the systems, the attitude towards casuals, flying and the spectacular profession system feels so much better than Daddy Blizzxs current efforts. It’s even worth putting up with the cat-boys and bunny-girls :face_with_monocle:. :see_no_evil::hear_no_evil::speak_no_evil:

I see new ones on the weekly clean the bags. go thats nice, i guess.

See what it looks like shift click view to say I have seen it, activate it and in the lsit it goes.

Alliance side its back to the champion chopper. Best 120K (iirc) I even spent. Really wish the horde one would go up for sale.

Flying —
you fly to an FP to take the FP to a new zone and then fly. Or you fly to big floating pillar of dying hope and drop and just can land mount… The zones feel so so fractured and it makes flying just clunky…

Because you’re totally misinterpreting intent. We’re pointing out all the good stuff that WoW discarded and FF picked up:

  • Flight upon zone completion
  • An endgame currency that’s farmable through untimed content
  • Systems that reward players of varying skill levels for helping each other out
  • Professions that are engaging and relevant at the start of any given raid tier
  • A steady stream of rewarding seasonal events

The point isn’t to recruit players, but to get Blizzard to wake up and restore their game before all their players permanently leave the way that I will in a few days. If you don’t like FFXIV, then don’t play it. It’s your loss.

I would also reiterate that AG has made very clear he is not “jumping ship”. So don’t blame him for what others do. If you play a game and are excited about it why wouldn’t you share it? Its not a either or proposition. It is possible to play both.

seasonal events, Hell they drop an event to drop and event its like content on tap.

only thing that sucks is pvp which has changes coming in Endwalker.

Have to agree with this guy. I’m here because I DON’T HAVE to go to the FFXIV forums to complain in the vain hope the devs improve their game. The only thing I would have to complain about is the fact FFXIV pallets are solely tanks, and I miss bashing things with a giant sword.
Would I rather play WoW?? Not current WoW, that’s for sure. MoP, 7.2 or 8.2 WoW probably. But until the current dev team completely changes their philosophy, I’ll be going back to bunny-girl land after I level a couple more alts. :speak_no_evil::hear_no_evil::see_no_evil:

I got plenty of things to do when I get into game. Torghast, mythic plus with guildies, world bosses, dailies, farm, try to make gold, pet battle, mount hunt…I too am in a casual guild that doesn’t seem to have any issues holding players. We are an older group tho so maybe the game just doesn’t keep the 20s engaged. It’s not bleeding. Fake news. XD

Awesome anecdote. Then you’ll get bored of it and never play it again. You’ll eventually spend that 125 on WoW again, even if you buy game time with gold, they still make money off you.

You haven’t been playing it long enough and it’s a super casual game. It would be like going on Skyrim forums and complaining about the game.
