WoW's bleeding because they can't keep new players and casual players

Professions died with the wow token
The only profession that makes money is the one selling m+ runs and AOTC achievements.

You can not make decent gear at endgame or gold. People just do them cause the like them or for completion.

Sorry a little rant

I still dont get why they dont allow crafting to make a full tier set (it can be costly, but make it look cool) up to say normal mode raid level that is made specifically for solo to world content. Something players can upgrade over the expansion ,Tier bonus like mount/speed increase, chance to res on death , simple % chance to cheat death etc etc. Only works in solo play.

Same goes for full dungeon sets that could be upgraded each tier in the style of 0.5 tier sets. I don’t get it myself.

I’m on a queue every night with a paid account, so I’m not so sure about that.

And yet you defend these people. I really don’t understand why your judgement is affected by your personal love for the game. This is why they can get away with so much and we’re losing players.

No, it has not. At all. It lacks content, actual story progression, class-based class halls and everything which came with it (vanity items, their own stories) and the player base. And the changes since BfA are for the worse, especially the scaling.

Legion felt like the true last storyline. BfA was more of a cosmetic update with Human/Kaldorei/Forsaken/Orc heritage armors hidden behind a lottery system.

Many recolors. And high rng. And…covenant locked. You can follow popo around for days. The rare makes it worth it. Not kyrian…no mount chance for you however.

And of late when on venthyr no one is doing that one. I can’t even fail at drop…I can’t get peeps to run it

Now my kyrian…this rare has been dropped many times since people there. Loot no mount chance. Oh well…a least a loot chance.

Well I think having the legendary acquirable on LFR would’ve been a small fix. There has been legendary gear or materials for it in LFR beforehand. It made players continue to play LFR for the rest of the expansion… (MoP) or in the case of Legion where straight up legendaries had a chance to drop. Just to have casual players continue to que in and play the raid for an extended amount of time. It would’ve made it more casual friendly for sure. That’s not addressing all the issues, but one they could’ve helped with participation in raids.

Nah, people selling high level legendaries are doing just fine too. I know we’re bitter but let’s not make up falsehoods. I sell every leggo and am pretty confident that I make more gold than those selling carries. You gotta remember that in m+, the gold for carries is split between 5 different people. That 400k ain’t going to just one guy. And it takes time to form groups. Get setup in Discord. Fail boosting groups also happen, etc.

I don’t defend anyone. Seriously. I simply comment on the game as I see it. I’m not responsible for WoW losing players. The fact that I don’t hate the expansion as a whole is not the reason we’re losing players. That’s ridiculous…and unkind.

I’m irritated with several aspects of the game and its direction, but I’m sorry; I don’t think the entire thing is a travesty.

Shadowlands has all of these things. Covenants are not class halls, but they’re a similar concept, and they have their own stories and vanity items, pets, mounts, etc.

I find the comparison quite apt.

The fact that we disagree on this point does not mean I’m defending “these people” or those people or any people.

I’ve always enjoyed wow. Currently, having a real tough time with the progression path. It’s easy enough. I just don’t want to do it. It’s been a week or two of not playing my main here, because I just don’t want to do the campaign story BS so I can continue progressing where I want - with BGs.

Seems we’re in the Danger Point/Death Spiral/Factionalization Of The Mud stage.

Just curious as to why you’re not on the FF forums?

Because FFXIV already has something to offer, and he would really rather be playing the WoW character that he’s already invested so much time into? Do you complain to the dentist when you have a back ache?

Is that why you’re here? You obviously can’t speak for the person I asked, but you replied, so…

I’m honestly asking because it seems there’s an army of AG minions who want to recruit everyone to FF to kill WoW, rather than converse with the FF community on their forums.

If FF already has something to offer as you say, then why not invest time there instead until WoW has something to offer that you find worthy of your time, and get to know their community on their forums?

I’m bored AF with SL, but FF is far too 90’s Mortal Kombat Arcade for my tastes, so I’ll just get creative like I have done in the past when an expansion hasn’t engaged me like WoD.

The WoW sandbox is gargantuan now. I’ll go farm old content or something.

I’ve yet to find an alternative game. It’s just definitely not FF for me.

400k or what 2 wow tokens…
I always thought it went to guild to help WFR

Everyone is different,

Most of the people can not accurately explain why they are so dissatisfied with wow over all.

About posting FF14 in wow forums. It should only be used as a comparison to what they would like to see in wow.

As for me,

My fundamental issue is the RPG aspect. The story telling, the being a part of the game, the immersion. Now we are told a story and we do some random stuff. That I am my bm hunter feeling is dead.

The end of cata they killed toon tuning with simplifying the talent system. So I took a break for m WoD though legion, I came back in BFA. The rotation and talents how they worked didn’t bother me, but I did not care about my toon or spec as much as I used.

In BFA when I got to dungeons I noticed the mythic system which killed the whole RPG feeling even more. Timers and dungeons for gear… over and over feels to much like an eSport . The whole season thing made it feel like a fantasy overwatch. And the level of toxicity was way worse then wrath or tbc ever had.

Now shadowlands dropped and I went from BFA to shadowlands with nothing ever gained.

To much through away power… Just kills that I am going to the next stage knowing I have made my toon fundamentally stronger and help the world.

I could care less and am absolutely indifferent to wow now a days. I am letting my sub run out and taking a break hoping the game become more RPG and they change the narrative.

Hope the game lives it just not the game for me anymore.

Ion sees the sole purpose of crafting as to make a piece or two of incredibly expensive top quality raid gear, but only if you’re an elite who can farm those hard to get mats. Crafting is no longer something casuals might want to do. For them it is a waste of time to get to that point.

Not really. There’s no FOMO feeling, activities stay relevant throughout it’s expansions and you can go at your own pace and not miss out on anything.

I do understand you - but my experience has become worse since Legion. The enemy scaling is very bad, the mob density a bit better compared to BfA and story-wise nothing really interesting happened. I dislike that we don’t have the path whistles anymore, everything takes so long to either reach or to do (quests) and the exp-curve is too steep.

The game does not reward you in the slightest. Anima (or how it is called) is rare, I haven’t collected any of the vanity items because it would take at least 2-3 years after 9.3 to complete it with calculated one-hits to speed up the grinding process.

It’s just a very bad expansion based on MAU and dishonors the player’s time. I do not feel listened or valued by Blizzard anymore but most of us committed so much to the game that I rather criticize the incompetence of the developers in producing a Blizzard-polished™ game.

I do agree that these are similar but they are lackluster and have worse systems compared the Legion.

Legion’s class hall system was simple, effective (you know these characters) and didn’t require so much micro managing. They could have simply copy-pasted the Legion one and everyone would have been happy.

I never understood why the FOMO-stuff hasn’t been added to the store.
