I see terrible comments on there all the time, though. Where is the big censorship, and could it please come faster?
And? They relay WoW news… so you take your anger at WoW out on them, that makes about as much sense as… wait it doesn’t at all.
I stick by it, make your “dear diary” posts here.
It’s still censorship when it’s done by private companies, it’s just not illegal. Giving feedback when you feel like a private company you want to do business with is acting against everyone’s best interests is also perfectly understandable. It might not have an impact, but we need to get away from the binary notion that everything is either sit down and shut up or burn everything to the ground.
This is already happening though. See: Deutsche Bank and Trump.
Because in this modern days, you have to like whatever things they make and you aren’t allow to express your dislike.
Follow the money. The reputable banks are backing away from him because they want to protect their brand. So where’s he going to refinance the hundreds of millions in debts coming due in the next few years?
My guess is hedge funds will bail him out. Where those hedge funds get the money to do that is going to be interesting.
I mean, if you just want to complain about it (no offense intended) thenI’d say here is a good place to do so Wowhead isn’t owned by Blizz though, they aren’t doing anything illegal either, their site their rules. I don’t really give my opinion on that site though I generally just post comments on quests or something to help people who come after me.
The mods over there are really weird. They deleted my joke comment that didn’t even break ToS. Under the page of the battle pet “The Count” I left a comment that said “Stop the count!” and they removed it for trolling. Idk what was wrong with my comment other than it was funny.
Two things.
-
What most “leftists” follow is science and vetted proof.
-
Accepting a narrative blindly whichever side is dangerous. Most logical people don’t do so.
Vetting your sources and ensuring their relative neutrality so you can come to your own understanding and opinion is extremely important.
Honestly though, one side seems determined to kill me so… I’m going to have biases there…
So if someone makes a really disgusting comment on my personal Facebook post… I shouldn’t be allowed to remove it?? Um, no. If a dog comes and messes in my front yard - it’s getting cleaned up.
why are you using slurs on wowhead anyway
Really?
Really???
You know exactly why it was removed.
I really don’t, it was a popular joke to make at the time that I made it. It didn’t break any ToS on the site. Why do you think it was removed? I would like to add that I genuinely don’t know why it was removed, as it was a joke about current events.
It’s asocial people wanting to drop a deuce (talk crap) on others who disagree with them.
Granted media monopolies that can gate oppositional voices are a genuine issue (say for example the few sites that exist don’t want your points to be said, and the ability to create a website and own a cdn becomes actually unrealistic for almost everyone and thus there becomes genuine censorship situation). But this is the people’s fault for relying upon 1 designated site for content.
If they don’t like it, don’t use the site at all or if they do then be absolutely sure to deny all ad and information gathering done by the site by turning all the highest privacy setting for their browser and installing ublock origin (and other extensions). If said sites lose ad revenue then they could likely loosen their clamping down on opinions or they’ll tighten their grip so much on monetization that they’ll kill their own platform.
You must be a comedian. What most lefties follow is their feelings.
wowhead isn’t a social media site
And? It was in reference to the pet in the game and a bunch of people liked it on WoWhead so I can only assume that most others there enjoyed humor as well. I would understand if I was sharing political opinions, but I wasn’t.
i’m not passing judgment on it one way or the other but… it’s not helpful or informative in any way, and it’s a political joke. it’s not really tough to figure out why it was removed.
^^^ pretty much this, don’t be surprised if you’re asked to leave if you’re being rude or offensive for the sake if being offensive be it online or visiting somebody’s home or place of work. Break the rules, expect consequence as “freeze peach” isn’t a valid excuse to justify being a douche and will only get you blackballed especially on a site owned by a private company. Hell, even free speech has its limits ranging from blatant bigotry to yelling “fire” in a movie theatre, mind your Ps and Qs and more often than not you’ll be fine. Being defiant over something like this is kinda dumb, you’re not being oppressed.
Tldr- be an edgelord, dont get shocked when it bites you in the bum.
