Just tried this it worked. i dont have to use a vpn now. i appreciate this info, can’t believe blizzard has been ignoring users with said problem.
Also for other readers if you have similar might work for you to im using pdanet+ AT&T Wifi hotspot
I no longer have to use a VPN but I made no changes at all. It does seem to take a bit longer to pull up the character select screen when I’m not using the VPN but it does connect and work fine.
Seems to be working for me today. I haven’t had any issues.
I just installed the new patch, it is now working fine!

Now I can’t even connect to the BattleNet app. How do I undo/rest whatever your change did?
Same thing here, after experiencing the Transfer Aborted: instance not found issue listed here on the forums i am now getting the same disconnect issue
By bad for not taking the time to research further. I found this and it worked for the time being.
- Follow the same steps (above) to get to the command prompt
- Type in: netsh int ip reset
- Hit Enter
- Restart your comp
tried it, did nothing for me!
same here, after all steps too.
rebooting my pc and unplugging my modem for 30 seconds fixed the issue for me.
