I would like another Zombie Event like we had years ago. During the “Corrupted Blood” incident. Granted that was a horrific event. Because the Zombie Plague Virus got out of control from the Dev’s and infected everyone.
In the traditional zombie games. The player plays as a character that is semi-immune. Or at least has a small natural resistance to the virus. And of course has special healing potions or med kits that they can use even if they do get bitten.
The Event could start with NPC characters in the open world, turning into zombies and attacking other npcs until there are non left. At this point fires would break out across all cities and towns. Why fires? I dunno most zombie games have fires burning all over the place during the start of the game. Yeah I’ve played Resident Evil, lol.
After a while the cities would be filled with npc zombies. Players would have to go out and clean up the cities and towns by killing off the npc zombies. Of course the Zombies would spread the plague to Player characters so finding the special potion/medpacks would be crucial. Something similar to the Culling of Stratholme but on a world wide scale.
While we are at it. Maybe we can also have events such as Vampire Outbreak which would turn players into flying blood drinking vampires. Or even Werewolf Outbreaks.
I think this would be a fun event. What do you think?
Edit: Clarification: There were several of world wide events relating to Plagues and Zombies etc. I kinda lumped them all together. Yeah my bad. But the theme is the same.
Another poster reminded me. Thanks.
Sounds fun but would be over in a week from to many complaints about not being able to use the AHs.

My guess would be that the devs would have to establish safty zones in places like the Auction House, and the new player areas. That would be similar to the “Safety Rooms”
in Zombie games.
not a week a few hrs or 3 days max

Well my proposal would need the Wow development team to figure out how to do such an event in a way that would not disrupt normal game play. But I leave that up to the Dev’s to figure out.
My approach to such events: log out when they are turned on, don’t log back in until they are turned off.

As long as there is a place where i can sit and ignore it while queuing bg’s then it’s fine.
Yeah about that.
Was highly abused by players when that was going on. We really don’t need that bs again.

people will just complain and get it nerfed again.
So many players quit over it the first time that they had to stop it early, apologize, and promise never to do it again. But they can’t help themselves, force PvP is their favorite thing. So the introduction of the new starting zone was accompanied by packs of players farming new players and alts at their spawn point in their capital city. Nice touch. They had to change portals so they removed PvP flagging when you left the city.

I don’t think it would be so much of a problem now. The problem at Wrath pre-launch was that WoW had millions of new players with no max level characters who literally died instantly when trying to play during the zombie event. They were unable to play at all. I don’t think we have many new players these days.
Well, here’s the thing, they could have chosen not to be hats and did anyway.
A little known issue with the whole event was several players got so much perma damages to their characters even Blizzard couldn’t restore them at all. I know several players including self that perma lost toons over that event. So you can see how the whole thing left a bad taste for several because of the thing being so buggy.
It’s pretty bad when the company can’t fix issues such as mentioned.
Alot of people don’t remember that part but it’s also not something they realy wanted to advertise that was happening if that makes sence.

That was one of my favorite memories in Wow and would love if they brought it back.
Sadly, the others are right, the forums would be a tear-fest over their emersion or auction house or whatever
Too bad everyone here has to complain about stuff like this.
first people will be upset if their gameplay is interrupted, followed by people being upset that are stopped from interrupting other peoples gameplay.

Only if it’s purely optional to partake that doesn’t require people to go somewhere else or log off (Because that’s not a mark of a good event if it’s just annoying, like the invasions from Legion).
Semi? their immune to the zombie virus.
Or as somebody around the world would call it “Plot armor”.

Oooooor… Or… just make it a toggle ala warmode, but call it zombie mode.
Toggle.
Doesn’t sound like a good event for the game if you have to log off until it’s over.
Corrupted blood wasn’t a zombie apocalypse. It was just the normal kind of apocalypse.
And then there’d be several threads on GD on the same subject but the only difference being some will be reasonable complaints while others will be trying to burn the place down.
Wasn’t that the “event” that was caused by a glitch? It was some type of curse (?) from a dungeon that got out in the regular world and would half players health killing alot of low level players when it was brought into SW and Org.
I want that again but I don’t want it to be as tamed, I want an event like that that comes out of the blue and just happens and people start getting diseased.
