Yeah I didn’t want to name FFXIV specifically, but I shall. I have played wow since 2008 and FF14 since v1, I’m casual, so I play and love both. But I have found that despite having a shedload of skills, being a healer class on console brings me so much joy. In a perfect world I would hope that WoW could also come to console and not only bring in more revenue, but enable more accessibility and also bring the fun I’ve had with WoW to others.
Also yes, Key Lime Pie and Cheesecake are the best, but I do love chocolate…
German chocolate cake comes from America, no idea why they call it that. Its the only cake my mom ever made and I developed a taste for it. Odd cause the most complicated thing she could make for dinner was sloppy joes.
I was hoping all horde = console - all alliance = PC
I mean, I love all cakes so if there’s any y’all don’t want then send them my way thanks! Though I suppose being from Devon I am partial to a fruit scone with clotted cream and jam…
I’m gonna try and find a German chocolate cake tomorrow, I checked wal-mart site, no luck. I mean one already made, I can’t cook. I can make sloppy joes though (^@@%!@! mom)
I’d definitely be interested in trying out a console version of WoW. It would be an adjustment for me to go from a PC to a console but I think I could make it happen.
Not for Xbox series x/s, they implemented XInput2 recently to support accessibility. So you can already play the game with a controller as long as it’s XInput2 compatible.
Practicality. The Sims and Cities Skylines are simulators where you have plenty of time to react, so button bloat is not an issue. MMOs are another ballgame. You don’t have all the time in the world to press a 6 button combo just to execute something. FFXIV removed a lot of useless abilities or combined them so that you can easily map all needed moves onto a 1-2 button press.
I was like wtf. Just the other day he was calling people useless donkeys while pretentiously critiquing their food Now if you would have said he was going to Costco for pizza…maybe I’d understand
Well that and it’s shows that you can copy something from the PC and translate it to the controller relatively uncathed (aside from the controllers being the inaccurate, but that’s the fault of the controllers). Back in the day, you have to make a completely new simplified game from scratch for the console or PC if you want to get it for those systems. Heck, this was also the case for Handhelds. Now were seeing The Witcher 3 and Doom Eternal on the Switch. It’s actually kind of amazing to see how far we come.
Well that kind of sucks.
I’m pretty sure there’s some buttons on there that allows you to easily swap them out for other buttons, like Mod:Alt macros. Where you press the Right Trigger and it does exactly that.
Speaking from my experience, i did tried to do that with my controller (with the help of ConsolePort Addon) and it works pretty nicely.
FFXIV already does that. You can hold LT, RT or both for a whole additional set of buttons, which is why I said 1-2 button press. It works like ConsolePort but in my opinion, much better. ConsolePort works but it’s cumbersome and wonky at times.
WoW cannot make up it’s mind on what button bloat is. We used to have so many useless abilities, ranks to where you could (if you wanted to) fill up your screen with all your abilities. They pruned it down and made it so abilities upgrade as you level… which is what @Nikolo (#Nikolo) was talking about. Then they unpruned because people who dislike change thought “omg, I have 20 buttons instead of 25!” and seemed to become confounded for some reason.
They did exactly that. So I have my buttons mapped out, then I hold down a trigger button and it switches to another hot bar with buttons. So I have about six hotbars worth of buttons with triggers and it’s super easy too. Not even sure I could go back to keyboard full time after that
