Biggest thing for me as don’t act as if the players who’ve been playing the game longer than some of the devs have been working there are always wrong and don’t know what they want.
How do we improve? By not changing for the sake of FF.
Isn’t that standard business practice? “We’ll get back to your within 24 hours.”
This is not on Blizzard at all. Lmao. I wonder what happens when all the bad attitude wow players go play FF14 and take that attitude with them. Does FF14 still remain so positive and magical ? Maybe it’s the player base and not the games lol. Even this go go go mentality, this is not Blizzard. This is a standard set by the player base. And most games are like this cause it’s real people playing the games and honestly the world is like this.
But should we just sit back and accept that ‘players are aholes’ and do noting? Or can Blizzard take a hard stance on this and actually start banning or silencing people for lengthy periods?
People who prefer XiV should just go play it, two different games with different objectives and playstyles.
No need to make every MMO into the same amorphous blob.
Back when my time played metric was me logging into alts to grind out gear not systems…
My problem with XIV is the lack of anything to do in the open world. No one does their FATE system, you might find a hunt train or people running in a circle gathering items but outside of those, nothing.
Actually I lied, you will find people doing FATEs in older zones because Square wanted to make the game feel more alive than it actually is by placing their endgame weapon progression in older content zones.
Let Blizzard speak more frequently with players.
The players know the problems and have great suggestions for improving the game.
as someone who plays both. If you think the 24hr response time for tickets are bad. Oh boi wait til you see final fantasy ticket response time
Hmm, what about things like “need help at the WW” or “incoming Lumber Mill”.
Cant see that really working in WoW.
Balance classes faster, more listening to feedback.
And I’m one of them. I stopped pugging pretty much everything near the beginning of BFA. It’s been a much more pleasant experience.
Yeah no it’s not
Of course it has toxic players as does ever single online game but this just false.
Hon, you got a great big heart. I haven’t read the responses for obvious reasons.
WoW people are gonna be WoW people. When I play this game I come to kick butt and smash some bad guys. Sometimes good people come along and help, some ignore, and some drag a trash mob at me.
In a dungeon on my hunter no one waits, talks, or helps 75% of the time.
It’s still my Warcraft.
I go to the other game for other reasons.
You can’t make people behave a certain way. And tbh the system doesn’t exactly foster good will towards thy neighbor.
Wish you all the best, my friend - wish I could meet up with you in a dungeon on my main.
A side from ‘forcing’ nice behaviour… nothing really.
And this game is plenty user friendly, especially in SL, it is close as to hold the new players hand almost. Can it improve? Sure but it depends on what area we would be talking about.
That is pugging for you. For every healer, tank etc… if you leave, they’ll just get into a new group or find a new one so you are dispensable, as tough as that sounds.
I did a leveling dungeon in Legion when I was a newbie. After small unhelpful pauses, I got kicked and the person said I should go off myself or something… it happens and it sucks but again - - unless they censor, restrict etc that side of things - - people will always find a way to circumvent it and be a meanie to you.
Harsher, stricter rules and tech that surveils that but that will p off a lot of players who want and like to rage on others etc… it’s a lose-lose situation.
They are focused on different playerbases soo far. WoW is very linked to its combat and ff to its story driven content.
Also wow just have more competitive elements, therefore “toxicity”(literally anything nowadays is called that already) will be higher.
Just the fact wow have more pvp alone means it will have more drama.
FF do have weekly upgrades to persue as well if you want to do endgame.
It just have less systems that plays against the player, which is very dumb on blizzard part imo.
No, definately not.
Again though i hoenstly rarely encounter people that are a*holes when i play and when i do i simple leave. Same for FFXIV i don’t know if i have a thick skin or i just ignore them nowadays.
More listening to GOOD feedback.
“Bursty pvp is better”
“Scarce items is good!”
Those were feedbacks given by streamers communities.
Actually FFXIV has a problem of a different kind.
From what I heard the RP servers are basically being turned into server wide Las Vegas by people who on WoW would normally be contained in MG Goldshire.
Now the FFXIV GMs are trying to clean house but considering how several times during Wrath WoW tried to remove the same kind of people from MG Goldshire and failed every time …I do not expect the FFXIV Gms to fair better.
So yes FFXIV you may have the larger pool but considering how toxic it is I doubt most sensible rpers want to swim in it.
Proper moderation.
But Blizzard won’t pay for it. Heck, this board isn’t even properly moderated.
The premise of Warcraft is that we, the players, are pitted against other players, and over the many years of WoW’s existence, that rivalry has soured.
The continuation of the separate Factions; of Horde vs Alliance, and the unbelievable assumption that pitting half the player base against the other half could be maintainable for decades without becoming hideously toxic, is now outdated and should be re-worked.
The very bones of our game are based on hatred, ‘Ours is a cycle of hatred’.
And here on the Forums that hatred can be seen between the players; gnawing bitterness and competitiveness, frustration over balance, and over who gets what and why.
FFXIV doesn’t have this, the main character is pivotal to the story, and everything stems from the player. (NPCs call us by our names, not a generic ‘hero’, ‘Maw walker’ or ‘Champion’.)
There’s no innate dislike or distrust between players, that structure has never been set up, so doesn’t exist.
I’ve been playing Final Fantasy for two months now, and have had nothing but truly amazing experiences; bards playing Queen songs in cities, people gathered around dancing, looking amazing in such an array of outfits it’s mind-boggling, and chatting amongst each other, with no toxicity at all. It’s really refreshing. Other players are kind and helpful. (I’m on a server with mostly oceanic players.)
Player commendations after Dungeons are a great idea, too.
I’ve played WoW since 2004, and it’s my favourite game, but I don’t like this iteration at all, and feel that massive changes need to be done if I’m going to invest many more years into it.
Blizzard just needs to (finally) listen to the player base, give us what we ask for, within reason, because happy players = game longevity, survival and money for their business, FFXIV Devs listens to their players, WoW listens to their finances.
I’m not really sure what changes can be made, all I know is that at the moment FFXIV is REALLY fun.
Wandering Bards (players) doing a concert in New Gridania, and yes, that’s my character in the pink princess dress!
