WoW Tokens

Blizzard should make it clear that you cannot buy multiple WoW tokens, exchange them for currency and then buy WoW time. I bought 3 WoW tokens so I can buy 3 months of WoW but have an extra $7 in my blizzard wallet but since this was unclear and I cannot do that I now I have to buy 2 WoW tokens and wait 12 hours before I can re-buy a WoW token for game time. Because of this I now have to wait 12 hours before I can play again AND lost 140,000 gold.

This should be more clear.

  1. HOW are you out 140,000g?

Because I can only buy 2 tokens instead of 3 posted this here because I can’t make a support ticket for WoW tokens.

I’m sorry for the confusion, Gensnipe, but why did you just not purchase game time? Or purchase Blizzard Balance, and use that to purchase game time? Perhaps I’m missing the chain of events here.

We do try to provide what information we can, usually in the form of Support Articles. You simply need to put in what you are looking for.

Technically speaking, you can purchase multiple WoW Tokens. AS many as 20 per week from the in-game shop.

These limitations are on a Blizzard license level:

  • You may use the in-game Shop to purchase a maximum of 20 Tokens per week (rolling 7 days from recent purchase dates)
  • Your Blizzard account can only have one type of Token and:
    • a maximum of 20 Tokens purchased with money in your inventory at one time, or
    • a maximum of 10 Tokens purchased with gold in your inventory at one time

Please see the WoW Token support page for more information.

Ok.

So how are you out 140Kg if you didn’t buy it?

I bought 3 WoW tokens and exchanged them all for blizzard balance, I got $57 CAD. I went to buy a 3 month subscription for $52.49 CAD and have the extra $5 in my account because I thought if you could afford the extra tokens you can buy the time and keep the remaining balance. Instead since it wouldn’t allow me to get 3 months with my battle.net balance I had to buy 2 WoW tokens for $50 leaving me 1 WoW token short of my original amount with $7 remaining in my account balance. So now I have to wait for the 2 tokens I had to buy to sell so I can get play time and I lose 140,000 because I can’t buy 3 WoW tokens.

I’m a bit confuzzled…

You are saying you bought tokens with gold for Blizzard balance, then wanted to use the balance for game time.

Why didn’t you just buy three tokens for game time. In the end it’s the same as a 3 month block.

Because you get the addition blizzard balance because its discounted as you buy more months

You cannot purchase a subscription with Battle.net Balance, because it is a recurring purchase that requires a method of payment that is not finite, like whatever Balance you may have had in your wallet.

You would have wanted to visit the Blizzard Shop and purchased simply a block of game time.

Yah, Since I always got pre-paid WoW time so I didn’t have to worry about cancelling plan I thought I could do the same with my battle.net balance.

Sorry, Gensnipe, subscriptions require a billable method of payment. :frowning:

Understood. Just find it odd that if I go to the store I can buy 3 months of WoW pre-paid but as soon as I use battle.net balance it’s not acceptable. No subscription needed.

Are you getting an error message when you try to buy a block of game time? I know people that do it all the time. You just can’t pay for a sub with balance.

Pretty sure I bought a 3 month block with balance last time. Rules different in Canada? If not, maybe you were just in the wrong place and tried to buy a subscription instead of a time block?

The only thing I can get for WoW time in the store show subscription and not a 1 time purchase so I don’t know.

I’m not understanding you, Gensnipe. Do you mean a physical store or the online one?

The online shop does allow you to purchase game time, in 30, 90 or 180 days blocks of time and allows you to use Battle.net Balance.

That really isn’t necessary though if you are actually purchasing the WoW Token for gold though, as the WoW Token can be converted into 30 days of Game Time from the start.

It sounds like you were on the Subscription page and not the Game Time page, the one I linked earlier. This one.

So you are not seeing this at the store?

That page is not accessible through the battle.net app.

Edit: nevermind I see it now mixed with game services.
