I am from NA, but recently started playing on the EU WotLK servers. I am wanting to buy a token but can’t for some reason. Upon further investigation, I read that I cannot buy a token on EU servers if I have NA billing info. I was wondering would I run into the same issue if I were to buy a pre-paid card from a store?
Most likely. Game cards are sold by regions as well. You can only purchase tokens for the region your address is set to, so far as I can recall. I know there are a few folks who hang out here in CS who play both regions who can correct me if I’ve misspoken.

Found some other threads about this. It IS based on your physical home address. So no, you cannot buy a token regardless of payment type for EU while having a NA address.

I can confirm nothing changes by buying a prepaid card, it is bound to regional information which then enables if you can or cannot purchase the realm’s wow tokens.
An classical example is the Turkiye country who cannot buy any wow tokens at all but prior could on the EU region.
