OP, are you really creating drama because you can’t be bothered to just pay 15 bucks once?
Good riddance is all I can say.

i used to get paid about a tokens worth of gold for doing 1 to 1.5 hour of heroic raid boost on an alt.
There are efficient ways to get gold and potentially have years of sub
I don’t think it’s about people like you. They earn more with the token than with a sub iirc. They probably don’t want to punish people like you and that’s why all you really have to do is buy game time once and then that’s it and you can pay with gold again for a while.
Is “baby” used to describe the size of the emergency fund, or are you expecting a little one? Congrats if so!
Iv been using my credit card with blizz since 2006 and nothing happened i call it bs
seriously some people on this forum
I just use the token for services and digital shop goods myself. Easy enough to pay my monthly fee in the yearly subscription. I guess I won’t see any change with the new policy.
I do not have any special insight but suspect that one reason they are doing this is so that the single required payment helps verify ownership of the account in question because those paying entirely in gold for years as you did might have no recent record of a real name on credit card, Paypal, or other payment source on file with Blizzard. Correct me if I’m wrong here as I’m just curious and speculating.
Pretty much this. Like is OP so petty to not do $15 ONE time to be over it then back to gold???
Got confirmation from a blue that bnet balance counts
I actually wasn’t sure about this - very good question.
We’ve asked - and from what I’m told, balance counts.
Should you find that isn’t the case, do let us know.
Thanks for posting that, but it makes no sense that this would be anti-bot, then.
I can convert tokens to battle.net balance, then buy game time with my battle.net balance. How does this help their assumed goal in any way?
Yeah this does absolutely nothing to curb botting. lol
I might bite the bullet and do a 12 month sub. I am getting too old to farmed gold. I haven’t decided yet. I can use all those tokens for Hearthstone packs anyways.
Also Blizz killed all the easy and fun ways to make gold. RIP mission tables and SL Leggos. Spamming trade and getting cussed out for not making a rank 5 isn’t my idea of a fun gaming experience.
Ok chicken little
You are assuming it was done for bots and I don’t think you can just buy one month of game time anymore so they would have to be willing to buy 2 months at once.
If you know you’re going to renew anyway, there’s no point in not just buying a month and going right back to paying with gold after.
Then they would have no way to play the martyr role for attention on the forums.

This is most likely at least part of the reason…
Just pay $15 one time and all of this drama disappears.
Isn’t it such a simple solution?
OR if you can’t use a credit card for whatever reason, just buy ONE sub card from Walmart and you’re good for 6 years.

Yea that’s specifically why I said “assumed goal”. We really don’t know at all what this is about, because they’re not telling us much of anything! But, yea, it’ll take three tokens (because of the taxes, assuming a zero balance start) to get that game time.
They used to let you buy larger chunks of time with the same monthly pricing as the sub, which is what I used to do. Shame they don’t do that any more.
I wont pay for anything online if it does not support paypal. I dont trust anyone else with my details.
