Is WoW actually the loneliest online game or am I doing something wrong? Chat is barren everywhere I have been really. Is it mostly a solo game or am I not in the right place. I want to like it, it has some good aspects. The quiet is getting to me though. Is there anything I can do to change that or is it just the way it is. Gigantic one player game with some multiplayer stuff that no one talks in?
Gotta join a guild and make friends my man
Still can not solo Ny’lotha even at ilvl 298
Im actually enjoying myself immensely. We shall see how it fairs after im 70.
Chat is being suppressed by the social contract. most people chat in guild chat or outside game in Discord, where they cant be reached by the long arm of the mods.
People talk with existing friends, or on Discord mostly, not in the game with people they don’t know. It has been this way for a long time in WoW, it isn’t new.
No that would definitely be FFXIV where you have to go WELL out of your way to find people to talk to because they have no trade chat or guild finder or any way to find people if you’re not joining 15,000 discords.
that’s unrelated to this topic but it’s because BFA raids don’t have the bonus “legacy” dmg we are supposed to have when soloing content 11 lvls lower than our current lvl.
They should have it, of course. Everything but SL raids should be on legacy mode… but it’s clear they rushed DF. They will update that eventually.
Yeah it’s definitely antisocial. But I’ve learned to embrace it. It’s a solo game that you play with others. World pvp, BGs, Grand Hunt raids, dungeons. It’s not vanilla. I chat it up in classic.
I can’t be bothered on this game tho. Everyone is walking on egg shells all the time because you’ll get reported for basic humor. So people that bind communities have all left or will not speak.
If you want a real lonely experience, go try ESO.
I have had zero issues running into other players all over WoW not just in Dragon Isles.
Heck, I see players fishing along Dragon Isles in the most random spots sometimes that I just plop my dragon down and fish next to them…sometimes having a little chat.
Come to Moon Guard. People never shut up.
Everyone is on the own discord servers or guild/community chats.
This is honestly such a sad state of affairs. It’s totalitarian and abusive towards the aspects that make an MMORPG an MMORPG. You can be both accepting of all people and allow discourse. People getting bans for regular day curse words and stuff is wildly redic
No it isnt. Being a prick in chat is being suppressed.
not everyone wants “discourse” in their video game fantasy world, but people who want the discourse are a bit too dim to realize that and thus must be reported in order for them to get the picture and bugger off.
Eh, guilds don’t really chat that much either. Besides, that’s all in place for classic too, and it’s far from antisocial.
Some players & I would think currently most, are too focus on keeping up with advancing their chars, by leveling, recipes, reputation, etc. No time to chit chat, hustle and bustle by actions alone…maybe?
Depends on server and location tbh
I always wondered how we will solo this raid last boss.
