You better listen up Blizzard, the Twitch community is done playing around.
Yesterday Pikaboo and Xaryu (Multi R1/AWC Winners) have both said that if PvP Balance does not happen soon to change the meta, they will no longer queue Arenas for viewers.
This means all the top players in WoW Arena, CDew, Foxxyllama, Absterge, everyone will also no longer support or stream WoW and it will absolutely kill the playerbase.
Blizzard, you need to start making changes fast. You do NOT want the Streamers/YouTubers to turn on the Arena scene, they are the most important part of this Community and you should be doing everything in your power to keep them happy.
No one wants to play this trash meta of the easiest baby mode classes being the best to play.
BM hunter should always be F tier.
Ret paladins should not do high damage, ever. They should be a support DPS and not a warrior with more support than 5 MOBA heroes combined.
Resto shaman does not cast spells, never goes oom and outheals everyone by 20%+
The game is legit zero fun when the easiest, most braindead and unfun classes to fight are the best.
Realistically though, if income dries up, they would just jump to another game and bring a player-base with them. Any of these have more streaming hours (on a monthly basis AO EOM Mar 2023) on twitch than WoW:

To be R1 in one game typically means you’ll be fairly competitive in most games and it’s not exactly unheard-of to have a streamer swap for a while.
Almost 99% of wow streamers have only played wow for the last 15 years of their lives there’s no way you think they can just switch to a different game like valorant/league/dota 2 and be “fairly competitive”, they would literally be below average
These people aren’t going anywhere bro they have been steaming and playing the game their whole lives; it actually amazes me when people think they are just gonna swap games at ease especially when money is on the line
You have no idea what they play, when they play or how competitive they could be; you’re making your entire argument up out of thin air.
If you don’t understand how raw talent works, or how natural affinity can make you good at many things that are very similar, I guess I feel bad for you - but for the rest of us, we can be good at multiple similar things fairly easily. You don’t hit R1 in WoW because you are very good at WoW, you hit it because you’re very good at video games and have spent a ton of time perfecting WoW. To assume it is not possible to transfer those skills to another videogame is ridiculous.
I personally know a few of the bigger GTAVRP streamers, we used to play together on TheFamily RP server before it fell apart and Proxy quit and Ely turned completely crazy, then folks moved to NoPixel. They’re earning between 150K - 500K a year. It’s mentally taxing gaming but holy heck you can make great money doing it.
Lmao first off don’t put words in my mouth I never said players can’t be good at multiple games; I said these wow streamers that you put on a pedestal whom you think would “boycott and kill the game” by taking their viewers to another game have been playing wow for 15 years so if you think they can just go to another game like league dota 2 or valorant you are completely delusional and need to seek help

If you think being r1 on wow is equivalent to being top .01% in other competitive games you are also living under a rainbow. The only “pro” wow player I can think of off the top of my head that could be “competitive” in other huge games is probably samiyam. But he has a viewer base of about 100 to 300 viewers he isn’t killing anything if he decides to stop streaming wow and since the argument was concerning HUGE wow streamers such as pikaboo, xaryu and cdew I would say you are wrong yet again
So please, get over your delusions that these streamers can just easily transition to a better game and just make just as much money from being “competitive” if they could do they they would’ve done that years ago
