Okay, well unless that gives you psychic abilities, I don’t think that’s really relevant here.

We’re not talking about people using the word in place of the obvious alternative, we’re talking about a sweeping ban of anyone who uses the term ‘naga’, on the cusp of a naga-themed patch releasing.

Out of touch, rich, older, higher-ups in companies don’t know a thing about the products/content that there customers are using?

This is the reason for the blanket ban.

The use of naga to fill in for a racial slur has been around for years. “But I didn’t KNOOOW!” will be seen as the pretext it is.

Unless of course, the streamers are deliberately using it in place of the n-word. In which case, let Twitch ban away. Does anyone really think that all the streamers are little angels who would never ever do such a thing?

Haven’t watched the video but if that idiot went to wikipedia and looked up “Naga”, he will see that word has been around for centuries.

I’m curious about where exactly you live and what your social group looks like, lol. I’m deep South and I can pretty much guarantee you that 99.995% of the population round these parts have never heard of a Naga and wouldn’t pronounce it correctly (or anywhere resembling the other word) if they encountered it in print somewhere.

I think most of the ones in question probably consider themselves internet shock jocks in the vein of Howard Stern who flaunt things like that for ratings.

The streamer banned didn’t just say “naga”, there was very clearly some baiting and even stream raiding going on over it. I can’t post links nor images just yet, but I can post a quote from a Twitter user commenting on this streamer’s post to Twitch:

This is such a disingenuous way to frame the situation.

Streamer Savix said “Shot that Naga”, and as expected chat reacts with CmonBruh since Naga sounds like the N-Word.

Then 2 hours later, you all raid his stream and spam “SHOOT SOME NAGAS POG”

Why randomly spam that?

He was just doing a dungeon.

If you guys were just quoting him, he said “Shot That Naga” - why spam “SHOOT SOME NAGAS”?

You guys were race-baiting, streamers do all the time.

Pretending that all you did was reference a WoW Race and nothing else is so disingenuous.

^ Above user also provided images of the chat they took part in. The intent was clear.

Edit: I refer just to the posted case. I don’t know about other cases.

Well, Blizzard isn’t great with their biological nomenclature. Azerothian bobcats have long flowing tails and neither bob nor weave. Also, Naga are mutated/changed Highborne Elves and apparently have both.
