I saw it on youtube earlier. Everyone is leaving WoW for FFXIV. There’s a lot of merit to these streamers’ points and after watching all of their videos on it I have come to the conclusion that WoW would just be better if it became FFXIV in all but name and appearance. I can’t elaborate on it here but it doesn’t take much to see why FFXIV is a great game and growing steadily while wow is dwindling into irrelevance.

It’s wierd for anyone to suggest that WoW should copy a WoW clone…but I guess that is how the internet works now.

A rushed clone wont work, people would still just go to FF as the one thats not a clone.
WoW needs to make itself unique again because it has real competition, where it didn’t really have any genuinely competition for years.

It’s hardly a competition. WoW is dying, FFXIV is growing. In order to keep up, the WoW team needs to accept that their ideas are dated and unwanted and that people only play because they are invested. FFXIV is a genuinely good game that is on the rise thanks to its merits and the hard work of the passionate dev team.

People don’t want 2 WoWs or 2 FF14s…Each has a niche audience that makes the MMO genre better by both uniquely existing at the same time

And WoW will live by being a rip off of the game already siphoning it’s competition? It needs to actually adapt to competition again. This isn’t adapting, you can only copy for so long.

WoW just needs to decide if it is a fantasy mmo or an e-sports game. Then hopefully they can go about fixing the game instead of putting in place systems that either appease one or the other but never both sides. I’m all for making it a fantasy mmo again but if it continues to go e-sports I won’t return.

Actually I’d love to build a hybrid game pulling from WoW and FFXIV…and more and more there would be more elements from FFXIV over WoW when competing for the same feature.
I mean, still a few hours before midnight though . . .

everything you say would be correct, but for a new race and a new world for expansion, by the time we’ve had the majesty of MoP and the beauty of Suramar and Argus in Legion, we saw that that kind of difference we need in WoW.
Which Shadowlands is not the difference we want, something that goes out of context to what we saw in Azeroth.
It is one of the reasons because not only in the game delays (for more than 200 days in this patch) but also the gameplay system is looking somewhat unbalanced as it was in BfA and the system we need to reach the goal even after Get to Max level 60.
It is also the lore and the details that help to attract more to the taste of the game, something that once again Japan in animation and art content is winning over its forced US policy, how to say the atmosphere of Final fantasy helps a lot to excellence of the game.
However, we are still wanting to kill the expansion without knowing that it is not over, so we only have to wait if Blizzard improves the concept of the game and repairs it before we have a BfA or a WoD open.
No FFXIV is a bad game, I am not leaving and never will. FFXIV cannot even compete in the same realm, anyone who is leaving is just salty and mad and should stay very mad and just not come back. If XIV is so much better, stay there stop making spammy posts trying to change something that doesn’t need changing. WoW is its own, XIV is its own, you can stay on your corner of the mmo world and I will stay in mine. Just stop coming back, don’t come back for 9.1 seriously if some of you have quit, stop coming back put your money where your mouth is.

You telling us that does not make it fact, I actually disagree wholeheartedly. I’ve tried that game four separate occasions over the years and four separate times I was bored out of my mind.
It literally has one of the worst combat systems of any MMO I’ve ever played in my entire life and I played them all this century and last century.
In fact, I would say that it’s one of the worst experiences I’ve had of any MMORPG of the last 23 years that I’ve been playing them.
I’ve played text adventures and MuDs that were more fun than that game.
