Has anybody else recieved the email lately. Been playing since 09/09/2009. To bad they can’t get it together enough. I sent an request for info as why they are canceling my sub but they will or won’t answer.
Best of luck to you all in the future
Sounds like a scam email.
Check the senders Email address
Is your card info up to date? I think I had this happen once, my card expired and I didn’t notice so payment failed.
Have you been on token sub for a very long time?
More info is needed. Follow up questions being asked are pertinent.
WoW doesn’t send emails saying they’re cancelling your sub. You got scammed. Remove your credit card from your profile and change your password.
like sen said you got scammed
its called phishing
Scammers man. Had one get ahold of my discord a while back now. Gotta be careful.
This would be a phishing email you received. Blizzard never emails players letting them know that their subscription was cancelled unless you do it yourself in Account Management.
Blizzard will also never ask you to verify account information either in emails. If you clicked on a link in the email, I advise you to run virus & malware scanners as soon as possible.
I also suggest changing the password(s) on both your Battle.net Account and email as well. Once you have verified your system is secure.
Please forward the email if you still have it to hacks@blizzard.com as well. Be sure to include the headers when you forward it.
The email was from Battle.net. I did cancel my card on account. I just deleted the email and I did run a deep virus scan. No problems were noted. so I guess I will wait to hear fron wow. Thanks for the replys. So much for the good years.
Just received this email as well, and so did my brother. Email came from battle.net so it can’t be a scam. No idea why this happened, we’ve both been subbed since at least 2018 with no issues.
You are best off posting in the Customer Support forum. The Forum Support agents are still there during their shifts, and while they are not part of Billing, they may be able to have this looked into. Find out if it is a legit email, some sort of email program malfunction, or what.
NEVER click any links in it. Always check your Sub status yourself directly through your own bookmarks to the website here.
Edit
Link for you
Suspicious links in emails = bad. Go directly to the account page through browser to check.
How do you know it came from battle.net? Did you look at the headers? From address means nothing, you can easily change that to say whatever you want.
I checked who sent it and the email ended in “@battle.net”. I did not click any links on it but I did log into my Blizzard account and checked my active subscriptions and it confirmed what was on the email regading my sub expiring next month.
Where did you check? The from address or the actual email headers?
If you cancelled recurring payment or you’re on a 60 day prepaid card or paid for it with a WoW token, then they do sometimes send out reminders that your sub is going to be up soon.
If you haven’t done so yet, post in the Customer Support forum. They might be able to give more information.
The from address. When I open the “to me” information on gmail it says email came from noreply@battle.net
That does not tell you where the email is from. To see that you need the actual headers. How you get those varies from client to client. With gmail you have to click the 3 dots next to reply and click “view original”. Then you have to know how to read the headers. You can get info on the IP address that the email came from and then you sometimes have to do further research.
The from address in an email tells you nothing, other than what someone typed as the from address. It would take me all of 15 seconds to send an email as showing from meninblack@fbi.gov if I wanted to.
I see, thank you for the info. I did check my active subscriptions on the blizzard website and what the email said was accurate so I don’t think it’s a scam or anything like that, just thought it was weird how my subscription got canceled out of nowhere.
