Wow Quests have become too long and complicated

(thinks back to getting the key for Scholomance and gives a nostalgic smile)

I’m not sure I understood this beyond the first comma.

It’s not that hard, grow up.

It’s not that easy or fun anymore
You grow up.

That doesn’t work here. Find the seed of the thread. Where did it start growing. Look in the mirror, child. :mirror:

Quests were never more complicated. Or less. Its the same.

The main difference is WoW now tells you in game what you would look up manually online.

“oh no, i hate arrows telling me where to go. i prefer looking up a webpage that tells me where to go”

Weird complaint tbh.

Esoteric, much?

Uneducated, much?

Elitist Much?

Still having a hard time walking up to digital animals and clicking them and running back to the NPC quest giver? :joy:  :joy:

Oh dear, really. I don’t know how you can fix that problem
nope?

If you put your mind to it you can accomplish any age 12 and under level quest! I believe in you!

Modern questing isn’t all bad, but compared to Vanilla/TBC and to a lesser extent WotLK there are a couple of things I miss.

Mainly, it used to be that quests were mostly found in hubs and you could gather as many as 10-15 in a single round, which you’d then spend the next 30-60m doing. Excellent stackability. Compare this to how it’s been since Cata where quests are dribbled out 2-3 at a time and you’re required to break your questing flow state every 5-10m to go talk to an NPC.

Newer questing is also much more likely to be centered around some gimmick, like vehicles or being turned into a pinball in the air or something. Those quests aren’t too bad occasionally but if they’re used too frequently become grating quickly. It’s also much more common for quests to be required for player progression in the newer game, where in Vanilla/TBC/WotLK it largely didn’t matter how you leveled — you could skip the questlines or zones you didn’t like, or in some cases all of it (leveling in dungeons or something instead) and still be ok.

This is why I often opt for Outland when leveling characters in Chromie Time. In zones like Zangarmarsh you can gather a huge pile of quests and go out and adventure for a good chunk of time uninterrupted. It’s very rare to feel like you’re out in the wilderness in the new game because Joe Questgiver is always within three steps of your current location.

Heck the first thing I thought back to was the original Stalvan Mistmantle quest line

Since OP asked for opinions, mine is I like the quest lines in DF.

One of the things that sort of bothered me about SL 9.0 was that while the campaign was “okay” at best, there seemed to be too few side quests, and those that were had no engagement. It seems to me quite different in DF; a lot of side quests and I find the ones I’ve done anyway pretty engaging. But that’s just me. As always, experiences are subjective and may vary.
