I am 28.
I think the average would definitely be above average in the gaming world. MMOs are not the big thing these days and WoW clearly relies on long-time players and doesn’t have the sort of new player stream it once had.
That said, it’s a video game. And one that demands a lot of free time to play seriously. I think you’re probably underestimating how many 20 somethings are playing vs 40 year olds.

30, been playing WoW since late vanilla (sub is active a lot less often these days though), but been playing the WC games and other Blizz games since i was a kid.

I think my average guild/raid team age is probably around 34. We have a bunch of mid twenties people working on masters/doctorates, and older millennials.
