WOW on PS5

Don’t you guys have phones?

It would probably have to be on Xbox for crossplay.

Also, lol at the people still trying to make the PC - Console distinction, as though that’s relevant at this point for 95% of the gaming public.

LOL you are comparing CoD to an MMO launched in 2004? You do realize WoW was never built for consoles in mind. Only reason ESO and FFXIV as those 2 were built console first and then ported to PC as that is how you need to do it. I don’t see WoW ever coming to console just like the other MMOs that weren’t built for console in mind (ie. SWTOR, GW2, TSW, AoC, Rift, etc.).

Yeah, and we saw how well that went over.

Ppl play WoW fine with a controller so why not. As it would also make it easier to have everyone on console play at graphics setting that would be the same.

I want WoW on my Atari 2600

What’s a PS5?

I still remember at one point Sony had a bug on the queue in which it could be completely bypassed. So all 3 of the people who knew about it got it. Then the next day 4 billion bots flooded in and they had to just take a hiatus to fix the site.

Fun.

This is definitely the dream for me. I will accept Xbox or Playstation. Literally the only reason I still own a PC is World of Warcraft. 100% of everything else I use the Internet for can be accomplished with other simpler, cheaper devices.

Same. Everything else can be done on a phone or much cheaper tablet. You don’t even have to spend as much as a console.

Except for WOW. Or computer silt games like MMORPGs. And funny thing is, the computer game devs want o make the play style like a console game and don’t realize computer gamers are a different breed.

Quite true. Got two a couple months ago. It’s surprisingly easy if you’re watching for them.

You think you do but you really dont. ESO is a PC game that has to cater to the console world. Trust me I know how awful that game runs on consoles. So many issues also affect the PC version of the game because of it happening to think of if the console can handle it already. Yes I know the Ps5 and XSeriesX are super good consoles. But they will be obsolete and replaced by some other upgraded version of it in no time at all. If wow somehow survives another 5 years (due to some odd decision making) then do you really want the PC world to suffer from the limited hardware a console has?

Ugh. That would be the absolute end of any office productivity for me. I’d bring my laptop from home and play WoW during the work day if I thought I could get away with it.

And you can easily connect a dualshock controller, easily connect your PC into the TV and easily download console port addon, set it up and sit on your couch and play, all for free might i add.

…CoD was always on consoles as well on PC? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Not all of them i would imagine. Unless i can actually plug in my mouse and keyboard i’m using right now to play whatever game i like, say like Spiderman or Red Dead Redemption 1, or Assassin’s Creed Ezio Trilogy and so on.

The Xbox system software is the operating system developed exclusively for the Xbox consoles.[1] Across the four generations of Xbox consoles, the software has been based on a version of Microsoft Windows and incorporating DirectX features optimized for the gaming console.

That actually checks out on that. But considering it’s modified windows, i would imagine it’s not going to be an easy port. :man_shrugging:

Well yeah, they need to get the controller support at least 98% good before thinking about going to consoles.

Steam has refunds and user reviews in place.

I don’t know what you mean by PC controllers here, but it’s an option if anybody wants to use it.

Not all the time. I mean when it comes to certain genres like Racing, sports games or certain platformers or even shooter/action/melee games like GTA and Assassin’s Creed, it’s where a controller can be better or at least preferable then the mouse and keyboard.

But yes, i do agree that consoles have a huge disadvantage over PC’s and PC’s are the superior for all forms of gaming because you’re allowed all this freedom to see how it fits for you and not have a company dictate what can and cannot have.

No mods, locked hardware, online fees, Sony being silly with cross-play, no option to change graphic settings so you can’t lag as much if the performance is really crappy (in-before WoW can run on toasters, doesn’t mean it will translate well to consoles and also 30fps is a bad framerate), not to mention the controller support from blizzard is pretty much lacking. It works, but when compared to ConsolePort Addon, it feels like it’s missing quite a lot, doesn’t it?..

Why would you advocate that having no options is a good thing?

Lol same. My WFH days were sometimes a bit difficult, for sure.

I can think of two main reasons:

  1. Money: it’s not windows or macos… so they would have to completely re-write all the OS interaction layer. That’s not free, Sony isn’t going to pay them to do it either. Not to mention the 30% console tax too.
  2. Playerbase: If you’re playing wow… you have a PC or a Mac, so you don’t really need a console to play. Getting console hardware is actually just an extra expense for a playerbase that may not want to deal with computer specific things. Not to mention how dependent on addons the game is.

Wait what? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Consoles now have a 30% tax now?.. Yikes. :grimacing:

They do… but ignoring the tariff it’s sony/MS’ take of any purchase on the console. So the in game store would have to pay 30% to the console manufacturer. Not to mention it would have to be a separate license which wouldn’t work well.
