So you call Tinkers, Necromancers, and Bards uninspired…
And then present a hunter spec as a “glorious” alternative
Good talk

I think the objections aren’t so much either-or so much as they are one before the other. Sure the could be done at the same time, but the priority needs to be fixing the existing stuff.
My idea is this;
Ancient magicks spellcaster, a class tat harnesses the power of the stars to incinerate their enemies.
A unique idea for this is this is the firs class to really utilize positioning in their skill set. Standing in certain positions and configurations enhances spells or has different effects depending on which way you are facing, if the enemy is to the left, central, right, etc. If you are standing at a right angle to your enemy and another, etc.
If you are standing in certain circles on a star chart on the floor, the effect is enhanced or differed.
The aesthetic is that you are drawing on ancient energies. I can see dragons somehow playing into this.
Maybe an added perk is that this is the only class I the game that is not effected by LoS.
Could be interesting. I could flesh this out a lot more but it’s food for thought
Class name? Star-toucher
I’d like a new profession instead like wood working
I’m gonna put it out there and if you disagree thats fine.
Tinker in my opinion would be a complete waste of time. If you would allow Gnomes to be Shaman with taking engineering as your profession, it would pretty much fill that gap.
Necromancer I don’t like because it would take away from Warlocks and Death Knights, and to a lesser degree, Demon Hunters.
Bard is just erroneous. To me thats just a mix of Monk and a Paladin that sings. That just absolutely moves away from WoW’s narrative.
In my opinion I would like to see something like Diablo 3’s Witch Doctor personally. I think it could fit very nicely and the models are already pretty much in the game. That would fit the WoW narrative and not take away from any other class at all. The closest class match would be to the Druid. If you would allow the Witch Doctor to wear mail armor it would solve the armor conflicts and pretty much even out the classes if you allow them to carry a tank spec with Earth enhancements. Races are almost open to all except for a select few.
You’re not my real mom, you can’t tell me what to do!
There are 14 real races (and 9 knockoff races who don’t count) and 12 classes.
So I see your point.
Tinker would cannibalize Engineering.
However, if they could come up with a way that it would not only not cannibalize Engineering but make Engineering useful as support the same way, for example, tailors support cloth wearer, and made it only open to races where it makes sense like gnomes and goblins, then I don’t see a problem.
Necromancer would need to cannibalize Unholy Death Knight.
So I don’t have a problem with that.
I love the idea of a Bard and read various books when I was in my high fantasy reading phase where they were primary magic users, not support, using both voice and instrument.
So, as a primary magic user class, and with both a back story and an introductory story that would bring them into the World in an organic manner (like a hidden sleeping Titan/God/Something of prophecy awakes due to freakin’ sword sticking out of the planet to teach the worthy this special music magic to deal with it and heal the wound), I wouldn’t have a problem with it.
Oh, they would be open to every race, wear leather and have a great dance !
You are my new best friend!
So Druid.
Druid literally has Astral Form and rains down stars to damage enemies.
you think Tinker is boring and then suggest a class that already exists.
Please no.
Leveling each class and allied race each expansion is a dreadful prospect to look forward to each expansion, depressing, and a drag on everything else.
No new classes or races until leveling is taken out or greatly lessened. Personally, I still like my idea from years ago and will not stop bringing it up - leveling gets easier via an xp buff for each account character at max level.
This is exactly what I’m hoping for. Craftable enhancements like Tinkers (the Engineering enchantments, not the class) plus weapons and cosmetics. I believe it will not only not hurt Engineer but I think it would help it. I would also like to see Goblin and Gnome Engineering play a key role in that aspect.
I think ideally, many want Blizzard to relax the leveling to max level to get heritage armor, and to not have some strange reputation grind to get a race unlocked (at least after the relevant expansion) with the unlock being tied purely to the story beats of an expansion.
Makes it easier to everyone to get them and just enjoy them overall.
Far as classes, I personally, think that more is always a good thing. Gives folk more to play with and fine tune their experience playing wow.
This though. I like that.
There is no reason why, if Blizzard was willing to put some real thought and effort into it, it couldn’t.
I actually meant the Tinker class only being open to races where it makes sense, like gnomes and goblin. Maybe humans and blood elfs, Vulpura and Mechagnomes. Kul Tiran annnnnd… nope that’s all I got.
No it isn’t. I dislike all of those ideas, personally.
This is what I want to see: a few new specs added to existing classes.
I think Draenei and LFD work great too.
I’d also be willing to give it to the Mag’har myself.
Why not both?
Some new specs AND a new class or two.
Because we’re never going to get both in one expansion. And current classes need some new life and depth into them.
Although, I doubt we’ll see anything as far as new classes or specs, unless Blizz figures out a way to give them class mounts, weapons and can somehow integrate them into Legion, where they’ll be missing out on half the content and Blizz would have to revamp how people get quests in Legion.
The Draenei have an entire social caste of Artificers.
And The Mag’Har orcs have plenty of mechanics and technicians for their war machines
I’m confident this isn’t a major block.
From the easy option of just attaching them to another class hall/artifact and never mentioning it otherwise to actually using some time to make a bare bones order hall for the new classes to just only including the leveling zones in a direct order…
I think Blizz can figure it out.
Personally am Pro true necromancer type class. Death Knights are too melee and use plate kind of a boring thing to call a necromancer. Plus name an expansion where we got a cloth wearer for a class. You can’t it’s been all Plate and Leather infact they reduced us 2 Cloth wearers by changing the way Shaman and Holy paladins geared. That said we could use a gun user. America made game, but only 1 gun class? This is kinda weird.
Nah. We care about balance over here.
Don’t need another class.
I am.
