WoW isn’t dead until the servers shut down, cause I’ll be yiffing up org till that day comes
I think it would do WoW good to bring in a modern engine with water physics, etc.
As I get older it’s just the immersion I want, stagnant un moving water on slopes has always bothered me, it would be nice to see WoW develop more of that.
Or an engine that can handle seasons instead of stagnant zone textures. This would be fantastic.
Anyone who played Asheron’s Call would know what I am talking about, there was a charm to seeing the seasons come by every year.

Let me tell you a story. About 6-9 years ago, there was a big MMO boom, in part because WoW was doing so well, other companies wanted into the MMO market and put out their own MMOs.
Everyone that played around that time probably remembers. “TERA will kill WoW. SWTOR will kill WoW. GW2 will kill WoW. Aion will kill WoW. Rift will kill WoW. Wildstar will kill WoW. Blade and Soul will kill WoW. ESO will kill WoW.”
TERA has a niche playerbase. SWTOR has a small playerbase and relies heavily on MTX and lootboxes. GW2 is in limbo. Aion has basically died. Rift has basically died. Wildstar has died. Blade and Soul has a small, niche playerbase. ESO is the only one that I listed that’s doing okay.
WoW is still very much alive. Even FFXIV hasn’t killed WoW, and it’s a really good MMO. No other game will kill WoW, WoW is the only thing that will kill WoW.

WoW will literally murder itself. I am kinda sad GW2 is basically in the void at this point and a bunch of other games sort of… Well died out. If it wasn’t for WoW though I wouldn’t have met my partner I have now so here is to hoping it has a few more years in it? I wonder what they will do next when it finally does ‘die’ out.

People have said that for 15 years. The only thing killing WoW will be Blizzard.
That being said, I was excited about the concept of New World when first announced. But the trailer did nothing for me.
The MMOs I’m looking forward to are Phantasy Star Online 2’s NA release and the Dune MMO.
new world is garbage survival-punch trees game. Nothing in common in classic mmos with quests and gear. FFXIV is better choice if you want wow, but not wow

Me too. I don’t understand at all what is happening in the trailer and why it’s supposed to be exciting!? Pick up red jewel thing to get red eyes and fight zombie things on small island of weirdness for all eternity? Huh?
