I think this is true. WoW has lost its RPG nature and it’s now currently just an MMO amusement park.
What am I supposed to do with this information?
Be super offended that someone has dared insult the holy RPGness, or rail against the destruction of all roleplay holds dear by [checks notes] giving us red draenei and vulpera

We need new devs or new game.
What variation of RPG are you mentioning? Weapon skills? Rewards? Armor type? Locations?
Alright thanks for sharing
World of Warcraft is a game. Everything else doesn’t matter.
Yes, it is still an MMO. And although many elements have changed throughout the years, it does still have lots of RPG elements as well. So, it still is an MMORPG.
It also has lots of other elements, because a 20 year old game HAS to evolve in order to stay alive. Simple as that.
The industry of gaming has changed in 20 years, and so have the players. That’s just life.
I am, if i didn’t like WoW I wouldn’t play.
Yes…?
WoW hasn’t been a RPG since… at least Mists of Pandaria, probably a bit earlier than that. It definitely had lost the RPG aspect of it during WoD and most of it really felt like it was gone during Mists.
And yes. It is a theme park style MMO.
Not sure what this is supposed to be besides just acknowledging the genre of MMO WoW has always been? Like, is it meant to a PSA or something or… what exactly?
Unfortunately OP is too short for this ride.
The issue is that the term “RPG” means basically nothing. MOST games can technically be called RPGs and not really be wrong.
WoW lost some of the more tabletop-leaning RPG features as we moved into Cata, because they were tedious and didn’t add to the gameplay. (Weapon Skills, Spell Reagents, Ability Ranks / Learning from a Trainer, and probably some other stuff I’m forgetting)
But that didn’t make it stop being an RPG. It’s just a less traditional one than it used to be.
But yes it’s a themepark MMORPG. Ones that aren’t are boring as hell.
we call that a “themepark MMORPG”. as opposed to a sandbox MMORPG like EVE Online.
Clearly they shoot fire bolts and crunch on healthstones irl
there exist MMOs that arent RPGs.
browser MMOCBGs used to be popular 15 years ago. Like Travian or Evony for example. Even Sim City 5 tried to be an MMOCBG.
They must be a devoted warlock.
All the more reason why they should make a Warcraft 2D fighting game. FGC is a huge untapped market for Blizz.
enjoy the amusement park? duh.
Everything is on rails because they feel like they need to regulate how players experience the content. When, where, and for how long.
It’s not like it makes the content feel any better or anything.
I can get down with this.
