gatekeeping creates RMT opportunities for those who feed off the game financially like leeches…
Idk stuff like the NPC party for dungeons sounds alright…lets people actually learn their class/spec in a hopefully tame environment. Long as the AI isn’t programmed to speed run or whatever, should help new aspiring tanks or healers learn their jobs if anything as DPS is simply kill everything that moves so… yeah lol
Having a solo route to the best gear in the game is what would bring me back to retail. I would probably even choose it over classic which has been all I play.
Just let people choose. If they want to do it together with their friends, go for it. If they just want to solo it, go for it.
Final Fantasy blocks DPS meters. Makes the game a LOAD more fun.
The game is just more fun because the fights are engaging. Don’t think it has anything at all to do with the DPS meters. You can log and parse all day, and people do.
Maybe a mix of both, and the community actually behaves.
You should sit this one out champ.
My time in retail can be expressed best by telling a small story:
Day one or two of Dragonflight, I start running the Ramparts dungeon… Forgot the name. I was going after a specific bird flying mount thing. I got to learn that dungeon fairly well.
One pug I was in, someone who wasn’t as a sweaty as me and the other people who had already capped so early, didn’t know the perfect route through one spot, and pulled a mob group as he was trying to follow us.
Immediately, I got a vote kick pop up. We didn’t even die. We just took care of the mob group. It was literally no problem, other than just being a nuisance and tangent from perfection. Like who cares?
It was really at that point that I decided I would not have any joy running dungeons in this game with this community. Every run felt on the verge of that or it was that. And I’m not into doing anything other than pugging, as I don’t like playing on other peoples’ schedule. That also isn’t fun and adds a stress factor.
I really hope they push hard on the AI. That’s the salvation for this game imo. Was really excited to hear that they’ve started making some moves in that direction.
For the most part, I guess. So does WoW’s for the most part, though. Ironically the forums for both games make it seem like both games are turbo toxic.
As with FF, you’re more likely to get nearly no interaction beyond a hello and a goodbye. I’ll give FF points for being more ‘polite’ but polite means nothing to me.
lmao.
This game has had solo content in it since it was released. anyone saying this crap should actually play the game.
not to mention the ones saying that crap are usually the miserable sorts who no one wants to play with in the first place.
notice the REAL raiders are out there playing the game, not in here foaming at solo casual players.
its only the raider wannabes who have the time or even bother to rail in here about someone elses game options lmao
You should bold this, it’s the most important part of what you’ve said here.
The absurdity of their miserable position is we can level by farming nodes, questing, pet battling…we dont need their group game to play OUR game how WE enjoy it.
Blizzard adding another solo feature to the game in absolutely NO way affects THEIRS.
At a point you have to start considering personal motivations as to why they are ACTUALLY so OBSESSED with how WE choose to play OUR game time. lmao
There are some genuine concerns about how forms of content interact with each other, but yeah. By and large, it’s just a bunch of self-righteous jerks arguing because they feel like they’ve worked harder for their gear than you might have to for the solo equivalent.
I feel somehow sad for the sorts of players who always feign shock and ignorance at why anyone would play an MMO if they don’t want to play with other people. It always strikes me as, how do I say this non offensively, like they’re kind of… just outing themselves as clingy and insecure. I guess there’s no way to say that politely.
The option to play with others has always been there and presumably will always be there. No one is taking that option away from those who want it. Those who feel somehow uneasy or annoyed or, dare I say it, threatened by solo players being given a bone here and there just seem very small to me.
Honeslty I understand the confusion it was my bad for not quoting the exact portion of your statement I was questioning by my own statement.
I was arguing that they do contribute to the multiplayer aspect and giving demonstrations where they do. I hope that helps to clarify, I apologize again for not making it clear the first time.
There is more to multiplayer gaming then dungeon content which means an assertion such as.
Is blatantly false. Most aspects of the solo player experience does infact help the multiplayer game grow.
Within 5 to 10 years, you will have AI guild members (and you won’t even know it).
How does it hurt the game to give solo players something to do away from people like you and Girthshock? “ThEy Don’T cOnTRibute”. That is YOUR opinion. Not everyone wants to be forced into a multiplayer aspect. MMO does NOT mean force group anything. It means there’s a lot of people playing it at one time. Frankly I hope they do extend the AI things to heroic and mythics. Not M+ but definitely mythics, so people can enjoy the game without having some playstyle forced down their throat.
Those who insist on others grouping up have always struck me as kind of creepy.
yeah, for me I love the game itself. Its the best RPG game ive ever played.
Being an MMO is just a bonus if and when I feel like i want to get involved with other players.
But personally, if they made the entire game up thru DF for solo play offline, Id buy it in a NY second lol.
Well said!
