WoW is no longer "worth the grind"

I actually wanted to log in and play up thru Legion.
WoD and pathfinder had me using some filthy words…
BFA…and now SL’s…well, Id rather go run the Barrens for the 600th time.

I am 9/9 now. Now I’m just waiting for RNGesus to give me the stitchmaster wings and the stichmaster cloak. Thx

completely agree that the new design direction constantly has me debating whether any given grind is really worth my time

it is either some minute amount of currency that gives me no dopamine and makes ridiculously low progress or it is some rng loot system with stupid low drop rates

this game just feels like it is pushing every tolerance as far as it will go with an anemic reward system stretched across 5x as many grinds

the dopamine feedback loop just breaks constantly

No the game is fine. You are just bored of grinding stuff. Just like people get sick of their work.

At some point this was bound to happen.

Kids out grow toys, they put grow kids tv shows.
Same is with wow. We all will eventually outgrow it.

The game is fine. Your the one that changed

So wrong that there’s almost no point in explaining it because you more than likely wouldn’t understand.

No. You are wrong. I’ve played since tbc and I still love this game.

It was a grind in tbc it’s a grind now

Your experience is not the basis for the conversation of whether or not the grind is the same.

Up until SL, I think that WoW devs knew what they were doing when deciding on rare spawn timers, loot drop rates, and amounts of currency to be grinded. Players were hooked, looking forward to the next reward, and felt euphoric when that reward was finally received.

But in SL, they made the drop rates too low, and the currency requirements too high, for both power-related and cosmetic rewards. They tuned SL to the zeal of the top 10% and overestimated the zeal of the majority of the playerbase.

I don’t even have faith anymore that I will get the rewards despite my consistent efforts, which makes me more likely to give up rather than keep trying.

To get the full Necrolord Duty-bound covenant armor transmog set, for example, it seems that you have to upgrade your factory to rank 5 and do every possible calling and Maldraxxus world quest for weeks or months on end, and I am not even sure if anima conductor daily quests have a chance to reward the transmog or not, or if world quests where Unity disappears (due to you operating a vehicle) count as having Unity with you or not.

So not only is the RNG too low, but the game also needs to do a better job of communicating how to obtain the rewards. And again, I don’t have faith that things are working correctly, considering how many mistakes 9.0 was launched with (some rares dropping too much anima, etc.).
