I can’t commit the times it takes to level alts anymore, unless its just hit 60 and stop. I only have one e covenant campaign done, without even doing raiding. To me it really does feel like a second job and not a game.
I’ve been doing dailies with Unity for about a month. I have 8 out of 9 Duty-bound pieces. It’s worth the grind because it’s a sick transmog. I have yet to see anybody wearing it. I’ll be one of the first.
What cracks me up is the people complaining about “the grind” and then saying they’re going to ESO, which is pretty much nothing but grind.
GW2 has an expansion coming out presumably this year. FF14 actually had it’s version of blizzcon today and is releasing an expac this November. The future looks bright for both games!
ESO is fun but DO NOT play it for the endgame. Omg. It’s bad. Really really bad. WoW’s is a masterpiece in comparison.
Lag, crashes, ping and engine issues so bad you can’t even complete your rotation fully and guaranteed each time, devs are slow to release meaty endgame PvE content and are terrible at balancing it (either ludricously easy or insanely hard, no middle).
Play it for literally everything else, it’s crafting quests and lore all blow WoW out of the water. Plus, great player housing. Just not it’s endgame.
If you are not having fun, its time to go. Wish you the best
It’s funny you say that. The main issue I have with wow and the reason I’ve only been using gold to pay my sub instead of money is becuse of wow’s massive over reliance on end game conent. As someone who doesn’t participate in raiding (unless it’s prior expac) or m+, coupled with the huge sub loss as demonstrated by the almost full scale abandonment of players running bfa raids (something that was not an issue at all in bfa running legion raids); I fear wow is heading straight for the same precipice Wildstar went off of.
There is precious little to do in the game now as a casual. The anima and renown grind is obscene despite the buffs and blocks any thought of trying all 4 covenants. I was barely able to do 1 and a half. And is why SL is extremely alt unfriendly.
Been deciding between ESO and FF15 since both seem to focus more on content that is relevant to me and not this mindless one track focus on m+ and raiding that wow has. Where’s my player housing at blizz???
Ultimately what I suspect is happening is blizz made the deliberate decision to abandon casual players to ESO and FF and focus on the dying esports and toxic meta crowd. I mean that’s fine if that’s the market they want. LoL did the same. Many games have. But I guess that just means I’m not part of that market segment and I should move to a product that caters to my segment instead.
Have fun doing the exact same 5-6 dungeons repeatedly for 2+ years, Captain Arrogant
You’ve just ran out of things to do. Content-drought is normal especially to those who rushed to finish the game.
Me too, I am even slowing my already slow paced gaming. My goal was just to accomplish M+10s on Season 1 and get KSM on the last season. I am past M+10s right now… at +13s. Since I am close to +15, I am thinking of finishing it soon. But my mind is telling me, what would I do after I reach KSM? And my answer to that is that it would really run me out of things to do. So I just make my slow pace slower. I could continue to run a lot of M+13s… with few 14s. I will take my time. I am not on a rush.
Yea I miss being able to make an alt and not having massive grinds in the way to make me not actually play it.
Didn’t even read the OP but the title was enough to hit home
I log on and wonder why I’d bother
People lose interest in things. I hope you have fun in whatever you decide to play next bud.
I hope you find something else that you enjoy and who knows, maybe you’ll be back for a later patch or expansion. I gave up on SL loooong time ago and kind of holding out for 10.0 lol Thank goodness there are other things I enjoy doing in WoW or I’d be gone too.
Anyways, happy trails!
I just cancelled. The naked greed shown with TBC news was the nail in the coffin. The systems upon systems in every facet of the game, the horrible story, the boring sameness of classes is all too much.
Might look into coops, SRPGs for now. Getting back into GW2 when I want that MMO fix.
Games should make you want to waste your time, not waste your time.
It’s true A bunch of suits who never even played this game destroyed it .
It’s called getting O.L.D.
Sometimes she says let’s grind, but I’m like a nap sounds better.

WoW is probably the most pay 2 win of the standard MMOs out there purely because of the rampant boosting in Classic and Retail.
