Wow is dead lets all go play FF14 lets go bois until change

It’s either I have something to do, the things you call ‘‘chores’’ or I log in tuesday to clear molten core and disappear until next tuesday.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish here chasing the infinite grind bis of current retail wow. You want those +12 haste sockets so bad to do world quests? Sometimes you have to practice self control. I’m nowhere near ‘‘bis’’ and I’m still getting my +15’s by pugging on a dps class on alliance side, it doesn’t get much harder than that. You have to look at the extra stuff like AP or sockets as extra and not a ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT, which is exactly what it is. Go do whatever is it you were doing pre-ap expansions if you don’t feel like doing ‘‘chores’’.

Mythic world first was cleared on the first week (which means previous tier gear is all you need for the entire game) and the overwhelming majority of the playerbase doesn’t even do that.

Also cata was not viewed as a good expansion at the time. The firelands patch was barebone as hell and the questing was linear and it’s the first expansion that started dropping subcount.

M+ isn’t hard it’s just in the way of the game. I never want to do one again. Where do I sign up. There are massive amounts of people that feel the same way. M+ is NOT content, it’s an activity if you like it cool however don’t expect other players too as well. Most of us who have to suffer through it to get meaningful gear and be happy about it isn’t good design.

This is why everything in this game is a chore now and failed. You have a chore list to get the Toxic great vault and RNG. Enough is enough. Players have moved on and won’t come back until they drop this bad design.

Getting BiS should take 2-4 weeks. There should be no infinite grind, if you never complete your build or character then you never get to really enjoy the game. Players feel good when they complete tasks. Not by infinite grinds. That is why SL is the worst gearing expansion.

I want to go to a Vendor with the resource I have and buy a BiS item and be happy. That is the clear gearing path that players want. Then when you complete your character or build you can move onto the next one. That is how enjoyment happens.

I’ve played SL for about 3 months. I have terrible gear and will never be close to completing a build so there is no reason to play. I will never have enjoyment. This is very simple. It is also explained very well in the latest Skillcapped video on why SL gearing is the worst and how it used to be good.

Not sure if you are trying to make a point or just like typing. SL is a giant dumpsterfire and 10 years from now will be considered a giant dumpsterfire. SL might be the expansion that actually kills WoW. It’s that bad. I just don’t think Blizz can win the players back or build any trust again.

With that said gonna do something fun think this back and forth has run it’s course. Give that video a watch though. Should help you understand. They actually use real scientific studies.

Ok dude sl kill will wow, never heard that one before. I’ll see you next expansion and the one after that and the one after that. They make more money now than they ever had cause of the in game shop they have no reason to stop even if the game had 200k players.

And that’s an entirely you problem if you don’t feel complete cause you’re missing a socket that will add 0.01 dps. You’re straight up asking blizzard to remove content cause your brain doesn’t allow you to enjoy stuff cause you’re doing 3500 dps instead of 3530. Even the difference between min ilvl leg and max ilvl is nearly nothing, the entire reason blizzard added this infinite power stuff is BECAUSE people complained about raid logging in the past, they wanted something to do.

I couldn’t care less as long as I’m powerful enough to do what I want to do which I am. And these little ‘chores’ will only help me get a little bit stronger.

Unless you raided the hardest content previous expansions you never hit bis either by the way. Heroic 25 man icc was the highest ilvl gear the game had to offer. I see you asking for +2 to give the best stuff possible and removing rating requirements. That’s something that NEVER existed in wow even at it’s peak. Emblems of frost from faceroll heroics in wotlk did not give you the best and it couldn’t even fill half the slots. Atleast now they let you upgrade stuff with valor from your +2 drops.

I’ve played FFXIV, I left solely because of the pvp. I’m not a big pver nor am I on WoW, I like to pvp. Yeah wows pvp isn’t great but it’s about the best pvp you’re going to get out of any mmorpg rn. Ffxiv pvp is more balanced since everyone scales, but it doesn’t feel as engaging or as fun at all and the GCD is atrocious.

Nah.
Guild Wars 2, Elder Scrolls Online and Black Desert Online have better PvP.

Well they ignored the Garrison Feedback because they bailed on WOD in early Beta lol…

FFXIV isn’t for everyone. The dialogue and story is quite good as that’s FF’s niche. The humans wearing bunny and cat ears instead of proper full fury races were a big suspension of immersion. The crafting system is involved and while it’s rewarding at first it just becomes a huge pain in your butt time consuming grind mostly leveling up for the sake of leveling it up. Gameplay is mediocre with an annoying 2.5 gcd which makes it difficult to get into a rhythm which quickly gets redundant. It’s an impressive RPG, but over all for a daily MMO experience it’s only mediocre.

They are a quite valid part of the FFXIV universe. The Golden Saucer is a lore-correct place that have women in playbunny clothes. For these things to be a suspension of immersion is kinda silly, the FF universe itself is already crazy and somewhat wacky, and its fantasy elements are all over the place. But it really is hard to avoid players being players in a MMORPG, if immersion is so incredibly important when in a situation where you interract with another player, perhaps MMORPGs is not the best choice of genre in the first place.

I mean, crafting is actually useful in FFXIV, so not so much leveling it up for the sake of leveling up. There is no additional reward coming from leveling up Disciples of land and hand, other than being able to infuse your gear with materia yourself rather than rely on the NPCs standing around or another player, and the reward for leveling them up is gear that can be crafted, which can also just be grinded for in raids.

A somewhat silly criticism of the game since it only reflect the earliest stages of WoW. Although I also somewhat agree that it is a flaw in design to wait for fairly long, before introducing some OGCD abilities into the game. It is better to teach people early on, that you can not play FFXIV the same way that you play WoW.

The click ability - wait for cooldown - click ability - wait for cooldown - click ability - wait for cooldown - click ability - wait for cooldown etc, style of combat does not work for FFXIV.

In FFXIV you will have to identify your On Global Cooldown (GCDs) and Off Global Cooldowns (OGCDs) and then in combat you will always be clicking abilities and this is what is called weaving. So you use a GCD ability then two OGCD abilities, then another GCD ability and then two OGCD abilities. The combat in FFXIV will then be

Click ability - click ability - click ability - click ability - click ability - click ability

If you weave correctly, and watch your cooldowns, then you will have very little downtime.

Hence why FFXIV, despite its 2.5 GCD, actually has significantly faster and rhythmic combat than WoW, provided people learn how to properly play the game.

You are entitled to your opinion. I disagree with pretty much every opinion you offered up in your response. :woman_shrugging:

Much of it, I am afraid, is pure fact.
Not much to disagree with.

And yet, quite irrelevant. I do not like the mmo side or playstyle of FFXIV along with millions of others who have played it and one of those many millions that will not go back to FFXIV. :woman_shrugging: .

This is quite different from throwing infactual statements out there.

That’s a subjective opinion, and BDO is a p2w grind fest so I’ll gladly stay clear from there I quit after penning gear on my sage. Guild wars 2 has good pvp, ESO… yeah no.

What turns me away from BDO is the gearing system. I wont be rude and advertise competitors games in development. I’ll likely try those out and see if I like them.

I hear it’s doing better with the new season servers giving people a nice and simple route to gear so they can Atleast compete.

New world game like game of thrones

I would, but I couldn’t stand the intro to the game… If I can’t make it that far, the game itself is probably worse.
