I’m about to uninstall WoW probably for good. I have lost confidence that there is anything here for me anymore. I hate that you have mixed low levels with high levels in dungeons. The scaling ruins it for everyone else but the low level who is topping ALL of the meters.
It’s just not fun anymore. DPS and DPS charts have RUINED this game. As a tank, you are trying to control your DPS RACING to the top of the dps meter. They don’t care one bit about you, or the group. All they want to do is be at the top. It sucks, it’s awful, it’s not fun.
Kill these addons please. Or atleast make that DPS that pulls all the aggro before the tank has touched a thing, regret it, just a little. Make them think OOPS. It’s so stupid that there is no reason to have a tank most of the time.
Yes, I was playing when GS became the new way to judge a player. It was awful then, and it’s awful now. “it’s been there for a long time” is no reason not to fix it.
Unless there is a mechanic, do DPS ever care about whether or not they are pulling threat, or is it more important for them to see their name at the top of the charts?
I blame the weekly, daily, repetitive check list. There isn’t much go out into the world and explore. Find things to do. It is all easily displayed and in most cases, we are directed toward all of it.
Addons, well sure they are optional but let’s be real. Some of them you just have to have, and they do rob you of some of the intended experiences the game and world would offer you had you not had them.
I often think most activities are more stress then fun. Especially higher Mythic + keys and greater difficulty raids. Should FUN be traded for difficulty level? I don’t know but when things get stressful that isn’t why I am playing a game. It isn’t what is going to keep me playing either.
Anyway, that is my vent on the subject. Sometimes I wonder why I still play and to tell you the truth I think it is all about time investment. I have poured so much of myself into this game. Even after trying others I find myself back here. Every time.
Wait, I get it. You think that Non-trivial content is anything that you think is non-trivial… Tanking is not fun even in “non-trivial” content. That’s a problem, whether you think so or not. I’m not the only one that feels this way.
It’s a low level/timewalking dungeon. The content is trivial by default and is considered just for fun. Who cares if the level 11 fury warrior is zooming ahead and blending everything, this content wasn’t going to be challenging for the rewards that it gives anyway.
That’s what happens if the DPS outgear their Tanks. When the Expansion starts, people rush to gearing. It so happened you came late and many DPS outgear you. At this stage of Expansion, leveling content (the one where you queue) are FACEROLL content, a veteran DPS would never die on a faceroll content.
Come to higher level content like Mythic+ where you wont see much faceroll. You usually group with players of similar gear as their groups are pre-made groups. No DPS pulls group without Tank consent in there. I had a group last night where everyone outgear the M+ level. A Range DPS helped pull more group so we could melt everything using our CD abilities. It was a faceroll. But most of the time, M+ groups don’t outgear the M+ key level unless you join a group on a lowbie key.
I was a tank in WoW from Vanilla all the way up to the addition of Mythic Plus. Honestly the timer and needing to know what, how, and when to pull each and every pack and the pathing was just too much of a chore for me. Ruined the enjoyment I had as a tank. Except for maybe a World boss or elite world rare I have not tanked progression anything for quite some time now. Do I miss it? I miss what it was. Can’t get far enough away from what it is today. Sure, I get asked to tank still. I simply say no. There is no fun to be had for me in tanking anymore. I don’t play games to get stressed out.
Are you or any of the DPS dying when they pull agro OP? Or can you just not get passed the idea that you can’t keep agro?
Cause I’ve been doing a fair bit of Timewalking power leveling this anniversary event, and the only time I’ve ever pulled agro off the tank is when the tank is massively over pulling and won’t stop running to hold the agro or just outright bad at being a tank. And the only time we ever really wipe is when the tank pulls way to much and won’t stop running long enough for the healer to get a proper heal off, or to even get into range to pop a HoT.
Yeah at the same time level 11’s 1-2 shot mobs and bosses. While a level 80 takes 5-10 minutes to down a boss. I was in a timewalking with 70-80’s in group it took like 5 minutes to down a boss. Then the next one with a level 11 it took like less then 30 seconds. This scaling is so messed up and broken.
