WoW freezes and crashing computer after yesterday

My experience as a long-time wow player and - on the other side of the fence - as forum moderator (different game’s fan site) and as a technical support analyst for a chunk of my career, is that the first response you get is gonna be boilerplate. Not because you’re getting the brush off. It’s because the people who actually fix things are busy and more or less they’ve told the CS reps - by established policy if not actual conversation - to leave them alone so they can get it done. So all the CS rep is able to tell you is “We know there’s a problem. We’re working on it.”

First week of a big content patch release there’s always more to fix than people to do it. Since we can’t do the metaphorical equivalent of go get lunch for the plumber we just have to take the boiler plate as a good sign and be patient.

EDIT:

The solution to the current problem is very likely different than in the previous situation. I’m only posting this here to point out that (a) the t-shirts who do the actual work do fix things even if it takes a while to figure out what the fix is, and (b) we’ve got ways to provide the information which will help them.
