WoW feral druid build

Hello my fellow classic lovers. I have my heart set on playing a feral druid endgame, I want to be that 3rd or fourth tank option in a raid, while bringing solid DPS through powershifting, and utility with B-rez and innvervate.

I was playing around with the talents, and I think I found a decent hybrid build I’d be happy with.

I know its not the most optimal for either role, but I was just considering it as a plausible hybrid build that a guild could justify brining me along.

Yeah that build is fine for feral. Realistically from a raiding perspective the only thing you’re bringing that’s unique as feral is LoTP. All specs bring brez and innervate and anything you’ll be tanking could be tanked by any spec as well assuming adequate gear so you’re rpetty much just there for LotP and to look cute.

Thanks

As a Druid, you have the luxury of being able to focus on more than 1 “effective” (notice not optimal) focus for your spec. At least from my experience, I choose to look at choosing two:

  • Healing/Tanking
  • Tanking/DPSing
  • RangePvP/Healing

A common strategy is to actually stop at 30 points in Feral or Balance so you can get Nature’s Swiftness from 21 in Nature’s Swiftness. (This ability opens up many avenues for saving group members, saving yourself, etc.)

If your goal is to be Tank/CatDPS viable, that is a fine spec (with what looks to be CatDPS primary, BearTank secondary). Obviously, having the increased threat could be more helpful as well as Improved Enrage, but your build is all-around good and should let you do multiple, different roles.

That’s about what I was going for. 80% of the time in raids i’ll probably be dpsing, and tanking only when its needed for specific fights.

If you know that you’re going to be primarily in an OT role on specific fights only, you could move some of the points around for utility and survival instead of threat such as moving points from Primal Fury and Ferocity (since you will only be shredding in Cat form for DPS).

Example:

I removed the points in Ferocity/Primal Fury/Feral Instinct and moved them to Thick Hide (This can go where you want on second-level talents since PvE mostly won’t matter), Feline Swiftness, and 1 point in Natural Shapeshifter (you will want this for CatForm PowerShifting)

Personally, this is my favorite Feral druid build

That’s the oddest Off-Tank build I’ve ever seen  Didn’t even get Prep for that double Evasion. /s

oh honey…

Cat is 4 fyte!

You don’t admit to being a lesser dps hybrid. You gotta own it 100%. Grab that Bear form, take it off those bars. 1-10? Cat Form, 1-10 in Cat Form? Shred. Mouse scroll wheel? Ferocious Bite!

I’ll be doing a build similar to this, for 5man tanking / BG / 5man healing. Once my guild decides what we’re going to do and what we need, i"ll likely respec to specialize.

This spec should handle tank/heals pre-raid just fine, just need to carry 2 sets of gear.

I know feral will not be top. I’m not under any illusions there. But with enough effort feral seems to do pretty decently in raids. With the utility and option of being a tank when needed, I don’t think it’s that much of a stretch.

At this point it’s kind of just a myth that warriors are the only tanks in classic. On private servers there have been guilds with feral main tanks that have cleared naxx-40. But it’s only warriors/ferals who can really tank still.

If you’re going for a hybrid build, I think NS would be slightly better than LOTP. https://legacy-wow.com/vanilla-talents/druid-talents/?tal=01000000000000005030501303022140505023005010000

Or if you want 5/5 HOTW, you could nature’s grasp.

It’s a pretty thorough guide with gear, builds, and more. It’s been built up with some pserver info so some of the minor things may change but it gives you a great starting place on everything.

Yea, i may drop LOTP and NG and get Nature’s swiftness… that is the tossup really.

For Cat DPS
Take two points out of Primal Fury and finish up Natural Shapeshifter and put the other in Feline Swiftness. Put the point from Feral Instinct into Feline Swiftness as well.

Unless you are tanking you wouldn’t need Primal Fury, and if you are being Crit while tanking you will probably just be dead. 1/5 Feral Instinct brings nothing to the table.

Exactly and Priapis did link one of the best guides you can find about Bear tanking above. I myself plan on doing some Druid’ery with tanking/healing in a standard 0/30/21 spec since I plan on playing as a flex for my Classic guild for those quick 5-man dungeon pickups or raids.
